  • Patent number: 12701099
Abstract: A method is provided for identifying network services in a network having at least one Internet-of-Things network subscriber, in particular Internet-of-Things sensors/actuators, based on domain name system service discovery DNS-SD via a multicast domain name system mDNS. A domain name system service discovery DNS-SD compliant request for a network service type is transmitted by an Internet-of-Things network subscriber to a network having at least one host that provides network services. At least one domain name system service discovery DNS-SD compliant response to the request is received from one of the hosts. The response comprises a text field having a network service identifier. A connection request is transmitted by the Internet-of-Things network subscriber to the host to which the network service identifier is assigned and which provides the desired network service.

  • Publication number: 20250293901
Abstract: An Internet-of-Things module is provided, comprising a first interface, via which the module can be coupled to a hybrid single pair Ethernet line for exchanging data and/or commands and for supplying voltage. The module also has a voltage regulator for converting the first voltage applied at the first interface into a second voltage for supplying the module. A controller is also provided for IP-based communication via the hybrid single pair Ethernet line. A second interface is also provided, via which the module can be coupled to a sensor and/or actuator for exchanging data, signals and/or commands and for supplying voltage.

  • Patent number: 12401527
Abstract: A method is provided for communication of IoT nodes in a local network, which is connected to the Internet solely via a computer. The local network has an Ethernet network or a single pair Ethernet network. The IoT node is designed display-free and operating-element-free and has a first interface for communication with other IoT nodes in the local network. Each IoT node has a first public key and a first private key. The first private key is stored in advance or generated by the IoT node itself. IoT nodes are authenticated by the process of transmitting a request for a root certificate to a root certificate server by means of the computer, said root certificate server having at least one root certificate of the manufacturer of the IoT nodes, receiving and storing the root certificate, and using the received root certificate to check whether the IoT nodes are original and unmodified devices.

  • Publication number: 20250247228
Abstract: A method for interaction between IoT nodes in a local network is provided. The local network comprises a plurality of IoT nodes. Each IoT node comprises at least one sensor or actuator and a first interface for communication with other nodes. The method comprises: creating a group of IoT nodes from the IoT nodes which together run an application, where at least one of the IoT nodes has a processing unit suitable for executing at least part of an application logic of the application; and determining a group-head IoT node from the IoT nodes, where the group-head node is configured to provide necessary information for secure multicast communication of the IoT nodes with one another. The multicast communication takes place via UDP/IP. The method includes executing the application logic for implementing at least part of the application by way of the processing units of the IoT nodes.

  • Patent number: 12224533
Abstract: A plug for connecting to an Internet-of-Things device is provided. The plug has a housing and a printed circuit board with a first and second end. The printed circuit board is provided in the housing. The first end of the printed circuit board is connected to a hybrid single pair Ethernet cable. The second end of the printed circuit board is provided with a plug-in face with contact surfaces, by means of which the plug can be coupled to the Internet-of-Things device. The plug also has an EMC protection unit in or on the printed circuit board.
