  • Publication number: 20220409384
Abstract: An annular cutting tool and related methods are provided for herein that exhibit improved durability, cutting performance, and/or reduced heat generation for bone graft resections. The annular cutting tool can include an annular body having cutting teeth with a flat, flared distal tip for greater durability. An extended gullet can be disposed between groups of adjacent cutting teeth to improve removal of bone debris away from the cutting teeth more and thus prevent binding during use. The annular cutting body can have a recessed surface portion to reduce the area of direct contact to bone and thus reduce heat generated. The recessed surface portion can also provide an area in which bone debris can accumulate away from the cutting teeth to prevent or reduce binding of the tool during use. The annular cutting body can also include a drill bit for drilling a hole in a resected bone graft.

  • Publication number: 20220138020
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for executing a plurality of service requests (SRs) from corresponding plurality of user computing devices, the system comprising a distributed compute (DC) that forms part of a distributed network, the DC having at least one processor that executes one or more routines stored in an operatively coupled memory to enable receipt of the plurality of service requests in a heterogeneous interaction pool, wherein the DC further comprises a system state manager (SSM) that, based on at least one common attribute of each SR in the interaction pool, identifies an appropriate node (N) from one or more available nodes that has an ability and the attribute-based interest configuration to execute the respective SR, and transmits the respective SR to the identified node (N) for execution.

  • Publication number: 20220015835
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for providing visual guidance in a medical surgery. The method comprises registering, within a virtual assistance device having a combination of a virtual medical implant, an Intra-Medullary (IM) nail model and a virtual insertion handle model, each of a physical IM nail implant and a physical insertion handle. Further, a physical drill gun is registered within the virtual assistance device having a drill gun model. Further, coordinates of the one or more holes on the physical IM nail implant are registered within the virtual assistance device. The physical IM nail is inserted into a target. The virtual impression of the physical drill gun is aligned over the one or more holes based on the coordinates. Further, one or more surgical steps are performed by the physical drill gun based on the aligning.

  • Patent number: 8848745
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for allowing a first processor to access flash or other non-volatile memory that is associated with a second processor. The first processor obtains parameters that allow the initialization of an internet protocol (IP) stack. The parameters can be obtained using the trivial file transfer protocol (TFTP), for example. The first processor communicates with the second processor using a socket protocol, sending a command word that represents either a read or write command. The command word specifies where in the non-volatile memory the access is to occur, and for how many bytes. Information is then returned to the first processor, allowing the first processor to verify the success of the access.

  • Patent number: 8386397
Abstract: Various embodiments of a system and method for constraint-based reduction of a solution space for vehicle routing are described. Embodiments may include a system configured to identify sets of redundant routes within a solution space. For each given set of redundant routes, the system may utilize one or more constraints associated with conveying shipments on routes of the given set in order to eliminate one or more routes of that set from consideration. For each of multiple routes of the given set that have not been eliminated from consideration, the system may determine a respective cost associated with utilizing that route. The system may also, in response to determining that the cost associated with a particular route that has not been eliminated from consideration is less than the cost associated with other routes that have not been eliminated from consideration, add the particular route to a reduced solution space.
