  • Patent number: 10587558
Abstract: Publishing social presence data associated with users in flight to other users associated with messaging services is described. Technologies described herein include determining messaging services offered by a telecommunications service provider are enabled to facilitate an exchange of communication data between a first user device associated with a first user that is physically located in an aircraft and associated with a connectivity services service provider and at least one second user device associated with a second user. The technologies described herein can include, based at least partly on determining that the messaging services are enabled, receiving communication data from the first user device, accessing presence data from the first user device, sending the communication data to the at least one second user device, and causing the presence data to be presented on the at least one second user device.

  • Publication number: 20200026611
Abstract: A computer includes a storage segment fully allocated to an application. The storage segment initially includes a repeating initialization data pattern there within. After the application begins its workload, the application writes application data to a portion of the storage segment. A snapshot application takes a snapshot of the storage segment. After the snapshot, the application generates a post-snapshot-write to the storage segment. The snapshot application determines whether the post-snapshot-write modifies application data or modifies the repeating initialization data pattern. If the post-snapshot-write modifies the repeating initialization data pattern within the storage segment, the snapshot application blocks the repeating initialization data pattern from being copied and moved which resultantly blocks modification of the snapshot.

  • Publication number: 20190391966
Abstract: A file system check (fsck) utility configured to create a file system clone of an active file system. Respective user operations associated with the active file system are directed to the file system clone while the active file system undergoes fsck operations. After completing fsck operations and resolving file system corruptions in the active file system, the file system clone and the active file system are merged. After merging the file system clone and the active file system, respective user operations associated with the active file system are directed to the active file system and the file system clone is discarded.

  • Publication number: 20190379622
Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling messages to be modified are disclosed. The system can enable messages that have already been sent, and even messages that have already been read, to be edited, recalled, or deleted. The system can identify incoming messages with message identifications (IDs) that are associated with previously sent or received messages, or “stored” messages, and modify the stored messages according to the content of the incoming messages. The system can include new SIP headers including X-EDIT-MessageID, X-RECALL-MessageID, and X-DELETE-MessageID. When an incoming message is received with a message ID associated with a stored message and/or one of the new commands, the receiving user equipment (UE) can replace the contents of the stored message with the contents of the incoming message or recall or delete the stored message.

  • Patent number: 10484863
Abstract: Processes and systems for locking a NB-IoT device to a NB-IoT SIM before connecting the NB-IoT device to a cellular network are discussed herein. The NB-IoT device may include a status flag that determines whether the NB-IoT device requires a NB-IoT SIM to access NB-IoT-specific functions provided by a cellular network. In one example, a Group Identifier Level 1 (GID1) of the IoT SIM may be queried and compared against a reference value to determine whether the IoT SIM is an NB-IoT SIM, and if confirmed, the NB-IoT device may connect to a cellular network and access the NB-IoT-specific functions. In an example, an NB-IoT device associated with a status flag indicating that the device does not require an NB-IoT SIM may connect to a cellular network, but may not access NB-IoT-specific functions.

  • Publication number: 20180288105
Abstract: Example techniques described herein can permit interoperation between network terminals that have different performance characteristics, or that are connected via access networks having different performance characteristics. A calling terminal (or a core network device) can retrieve an indication of functional characteristics associated with a called terminal. The indication can be included in presence information associated with the called terminal. The calling terminal can determine a altered functional specification based at least in part on the functional characteristics and a functional specification of a session. The functional characteristics can satisfy the altered functional specification. The calling terminal can initiate a altered session with the called terminal via the network based at least in part on the altered functional specification. A terminal can detect network service provided by an access network and transmit presence information to a presence-information server.

  • Publication number: 20180013887
Abstract: Calls, e.g., voice calls (telephone calls) and video calls, made within a wireless communication network include a subject line that may or may not be included with an identification of the party making the call. Thus, when a user within the wireless communication network receives a call on a mobile device, prior to answering the call, a subject of the call is displayed to the user or audibly provided to the user. The subject of a call may be automatically provided to the user. In embodiments, a prompt may be required from the user in order to display or hear the subject of the incoming call.
