  • Patent number: 9768910
Abstract: The present aspects relate to enabling a user equipment (UE) to operate in Dual Carrier mode during wireless communication, including generating an event trigger to be transmitted to a network entity in response to the UE satisfying a maximum transmit power threshold value, wherein generating the event trigger initiates a trigger timer that controls when to transmit the event trigger to the network. The aspects further include determining whether a plurality of optimization conditions are met, and modifying a transmission scheme based on the determination that the plurality of optimization conditions are met, wherein modifying the transmission scheme prevents the transmission of the event trigger to the network entity and resets the trigger timer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 6, 2015
Date of Patent: September 19, 2017
    Assignee: QUALCOMM Incorporated
Inventors: Sitaramanjaneyulu Kanamarlapudi, Arvindhan Kumar, Chetan Gopalakrishnan Chakravarthy, Luna Sapna D'Souza, Ajinkya Satish Godbole, Karthik Jayaprakash

  • Publication number: 20150230157
Abstract: Aspects for pruning a spurious cell are provided for a user equipment (UE). At the UE, based in part on transmission gap pattern sequence (TGPS) information received from a serving cell of the UE, a search period for measurement events for cells in a database different from the serving cell is determined. Among the cells in the database in the UE, a candidate cell is selected. Among a plurality of measurement reporting event time-to-triggers (TTTs) associated with the candidate cell, a smallest measurement reporting event TTT is determined. Further, based at least in part on the search period and the smallest measurement reporting event TTT value associated with the candidate cell, a cell age pruning threshold for the candidate cell may be determined. The cell age pruning threshold may be used to determine whether to prune the candidate cell from the database.
