    Filed: July 22, 2021
Date of Patent: November 21, 2023
    Assignee: QUALCOMM Incorporated
Inventors: Parthasarathy Krishnamoorthy, Linhai He, Kuo-Chun Lee, Karthik Pavan Krishna Bhogaraju, Sudheer Kumar Reddy Vangala
  • Publication number: 20230309182
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for enhancing a UE power savings mode. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) generally including receiving, from a network entity, signaling configuring the UE with discontinuous reception (DRX) parameters for a DRX mode, the DRX parameters including a DRX periodicity and DRX slot offset that define DRX off durations and transmitting, to the network entity, a request to modify the DRX slot offset after detecting at least one condition based on the DRX parameters.

  • Patent number: 11076428
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information from a base station. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the configuration information, a number of subframes available within a random access response (RAR) time window for downlink control channel communications. The UE may modify a random access procedure based on the determined number of subframes available within the RAR time window for the downlink control channel communications. In one example, modifying the random access procedure may include skipping a decoding attempt using a decoding hypothesis. In another example, modifying the random access procedure may include aborting the random access procedure.

  • Patent number: 10771192
Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for early termination of decoding of communication channels for power saving in narrowband devices are provided. One technique includes monitoring for one or more first repetitions of at least one communication channel from a base station. The device determines, based on the monitoring, whether to refrain from monitoring for one or more second repetitions of the at least one communication channel. The device enters a low power mode if the determination is to refrain from monitoring for the one or more second repetitions of the at least one communication channel.
