  • Publication number: 20170076222
Abstract: Methods and arrangements for cognitively processing image content. At least one image is accessed, wherein the at least one image comprises a compilation of objects. A plurality of verbal cues are received from a user relating to the at least one image, and the at least one received verbal cue is parsed. Using the parsed verbal cues, at least one object is identified in the compilation of objects, and at least one of the verbal cues related to the identified object is classified. A response to the user is generated, wherein the response comprises a natural language acknowledgement based on the classifying of the at least one verbal cue. Other variants and embodiments are broadly contemplated herein.

  • Patent number: 9547868
Abstract: Selecting a content filler from a plurality of content fillers in a satellite broadcast comprises receiving a content in a first broadcast frequency channel, and a plurality of content fillers in a respective plurality of second broadcast frequency channels, wherein the content includes a gap in content to be filled by one of the plurality of content fillers, the gap in content defined by a start indicator and an end indicator. The receiver transmits the content to a display device. The receiver determines a second broadcast frequency channel, from among the plurality of second broadcast frequency channels and responsive to receiving the start indicator, switches to the determined second broadcast frequency channel, transmits the content filler in the determined second broadcast frequency channel to the display device. Responsive to receiving the end indicator, the receiver switches to the first broadcast frequency channel and transmits the content to the display device.

  • Patent number: 9490701
Abstract: Methods and apparatus relating to reducing switching noise and improving transient response in voltage regulators are described. In an embodiment, one or more pulses are inserted into an output waveform of a voltage regulator. The one or more pulses introduce multiple frequencies into the output waveform of the voltage regulator (e.g., to reduce acoustic noise). In another embodiment, the output voltage of a voltage regulator is modified in response to comparison of the output voltage with at least one of a plurality of threshold values. The plurality of threshold values includes an upper trigger point voltage value and a lower trigger point voltage value. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.

  • Patent number: 9444328
Abstract: In one or more embodiments, a fixed time interval for a system is determined. The fixed time interval corresponds to time between clock ticks. A random time interval is determined based on the fixed time interval and an offset. One or more electronic components affixed to a motherboard are transitioned to a new power state when the random time interval has elapsed. By introducing a randomization to the timing element to a control signal that drives the power state transition, a periodicity for the system is disrupted. The disruption in periodicity mitigates acoustic noise generated by vibrations in electronic components and motherboards affected by current and/or voltage transitions.
