Abstract: Embodiment of the present disclosure describe systems and methods that assist a booking user to schedule an autonomous vehicle pick up of another user and ensure the identity of the user being picked up by sending a confirmation to the booking user. An autonomous vehicle biometric rider ID system is described that can include Internet of Things (IoT) technology, where the system software may use autonomous vehicle system components such as microphones, cameras and sensors, to send automatic voice/image/text messages to the booking user. The system may allow both the rider(s) and booking user to be connected by in-vehicle or external software available in the vehicle to inform the booking user that the rider has boarded and been transported to the destination.
