  • Publication number: 20150268739
Abstract: Projected input and output devices adapt o a desktop environment by sensing objects at the desktop environment and altering projected light in response to the sensed objects. For instance, projection of input and output devices is altered to limit illumination against and end user's hands or other objects disposed at a projection surface. End user hand positions and motions are detected to provide gesture support for adapting a projection work space, and configurations of projected devices are stored so that an end user can rapidly recreate a projected desktop. A projector scan adjusts to limit traces across inactive portions of the display surface and to increase traces at predetermined areas, such as video windows.

  • Publication number: 20150261528
Abstract: A specialized memory access processor is placed between a main processor and accelerator hardware to handle memory access for the accelerator hardware. The architecture of the memory access processor is designed to allow lower energy memory accesses than can be obtained by the main processor in providing data to the hardware accelerator while providing the hardware accelerator with a sufficiently high bandwidth memory channel. In some embodiments, the main processor may enter a sleep state during accelerator calculations to substantially lower energy consumption.

  • Publication number: 20150261877
Abstract: A server device may store information identifying multiple routes. Each of the multiple routes may identify a sequence in which pages were individually selected. The server device may determine respective time-domain functions for each of the multiple routes. Each of the time-domain functions may represent a series of data points corresponding to the sequence in which the web pages were selected. The server device may determine respective frequency-domain functions based on the respective time-domain functions; determine route metrics for each of the multiple routes based on the respective frequency-domain functions; sort the multiple routes based on the route metrics; and store or output information regarding the sorted multiple routes.

  • Publication number: 20150261536
Abstract: The amount of speed-up that can be obtained by moving a program to a parallel architecture is determined by a model associating speed-up to micro-architecture independent features of the program execution. The model may be generated, for example, by linear regression, by evaluating programs that have been ported to parallel architectures where the micro-architecture independent features are known.

  • Patent number: 9100305
Abstract: In one embodiment, a centralized network management server (NMS) determines a network state of a low power and lossy network (LLN) based on resource utilization due to traffic in the LLN. The NMS also determines an admission state based on the network state, and admission control (network-wide and/or localized control) based on the admission state. As such, the centralized NMS can then administer the admission control for all nodes in the LLN, where network-wide control comprises a single control command to all nodes in the LLN, and the nodes direct admission based on the control command, and where localized control comprises a request-response exchange between the nodes and the centralized NMS, and the NMS directs admission on a per-request basis.

  • Publication number: 20150215528
Abstract: Described is a method and apparatus for unattended image capture that can identify subjects or faces within an image captured with an image sensor. The methods and apparatus may then score the image based, at least in part, on scores of detected subjects or faces in the image, scores of facial expressions, a focus score, exposure score, stability score, or audio score. If the score of the image is above a threshold, a snapshot image may be stored to a data store on the imaging device. In some aspects, if the score of the image is below a threshold, one or more audible prompts may be generated indicating that subjects should change positions, smile or remain more still during the image capture process.

  • Patent number: 9094696
Abstract: A system and method for ensuring buffer compliance in a moving picture experts group 2 (MPEG2) transport stream (TS) system is disclosed. In one embodiment, a plurality of encoded audio/video (A/V) streams is categorized into a first group and a second group. Further, interleaving bits and a number of bytes to be sent are computed for each encoded A/V stream in the first group and the second group, respectively. Furthermore, an encoded A/V stream is selected based on the computed interleaving bits and number of bytes to be sent, respectively. In addition, one or more TS packets are generated by packetizing data in one or more frames in the selected encoded A/V stream based on program clock reference (PCR) and decode time stamp (DTS) associated with the one or more frames to ensure buffer compliance in the MPEG2 TS system.
