Publication number: 20240094099Abstract: The methods for sample preparation disclosed herein utilize an air phase to reduce aqueous phase associated with magnetic particles bound to nucleic acids to decrease carryover of one or more contaminants, such as, cell debris, chaotropic agents, non-specifically attached molecules, and the like. This air-transfer step is improved by using a combination of a first population of magnetic particles and a second population of magnetic particles, where the first population of magnetic particles is capable of associating with nucleic acids, and the magnetic particles in the second population are at least two-times larger in size than the size of the magnetic particles in the first population. As discussed herein, the use of this second population of magnetic particles improves the transfer of the first population of magnetic particles by reducing loss of the first magnetic particles during the transfer. The sample preparation methods may be semi-automated or completely automated.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2022Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Austin M. Derfus, Karthikeyan Kumaravadivelu, Kai Yang, Adrian P. Crute, Darren S. Gray, Armando R. Tovar, Tomoko Kobayashi, Tomotaka Komori, Yoshiko Wada, Masato Orikasa, Toru Yoshimura

Publication number: 20230012234Abstract: A system for recovering natural gas liquid from a source, comprising: a heat exchanger for cooling wellstream fluid directed therethrough; a first separator for receiving the fluid from the heat exchanger for separating liquid and gas; in a first configuration, the gas from the first separator being directed to a turbo-expander for reducing the temperature and pressure of the gas to form a cold fluid; the cold fluid being directed to a second separator for separating liquid and gas; gas from the second separator being directed to the heat exchanger where it flows therethrough for cooling the wellstream fluid; wherein if the turbo-expander is not operating, the first configuration may be a changed to a second configuration to bypass the turbo-expander and direct the gas from the second separator to a Joule-Thomson valve to form the cold fluid.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2020Publication date: January 12, 2023Applicant: PETROLIAM NASIONAL BERHAD (PETRONAS)Inventors: Shahrul Azman B ZAINAL ABIDIN, Lukman B A KARIM, Roslan B HAMID, Arfahsaadah ARIPIN, Karthikeyan S, Zafirah M RITZAUDEEN

Publication number: 20220325500Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus can access, via a user interface, route properties of a mine site used for controlling one or more work machines as the work machine(s) travel through the mine site. Access regarding the route properties can include viewing one or more of the properties and/or setting requirements (e.g., restrictions or limitations) for one or more of the properties. A candidate route can be selected, validated, and set as a selected route using the user interface to access route properties associated with the selected route. Requirements can be set for one or more of the route properties using the user interface. The work machines can be controlled to traverse the mine site according to the requirements set for the route properties.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 7, 2022Publication date: October 13, 2022Applicant: Caterpillar Underground Mining Pty. Ltd.Inventors: Pradeep Kumar PENNAGARAM HEMANTH, Karthikeyan S

Publication number: 20220138701Abstract: A maintenance method for servicing a component includes generating, via an electronic control unit, a digital model of the component, detecting, via the electronic control unit, a defect of the component, classifying, via the electronic control unit, the defect as a defect type, and evaluating the defect to determine, according to the defect type, whether to repair the defect or to replace a section of the component containing the defect. A maintenance system for servicing components may include a scanner and an ECU configured to create a digital model of a component, detect a defect of the component from the digital model and/or three-dimensional data of the component, classify the defect as a defect type of a plurality of defect types, and/or evaluate the defect according to the defect type.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2020Publication date: May 5, 2022Inventors: Karthikeyan S. Publication number: 20170240068Abstract: A vehicle seat (1), in particular a motor vehicle seat, includes a seat part (3), a backrest (5) and a four-bar-linkage arrangement (10), having a coupler (20), for the at least indirect coupling of the seat part (3) to a vehicle floor (S). The vehicle seat (1) is transferrable from a use position suitable for transporting an individual either into a first non-use position or into a second non-use position. The seat part (3) has a seat-part frame (30), which is pivotable relative to the coupler (20), and a locking device (52), which blocks a pivoting of the seat-part frame (30) relative to the coupler (20) in a first actuating state of the locking means (52). The locking device (52) permits a pivoting of the seat-part frame (30) relative to the coupler (20) in a second actuating state of the locking device (52).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2017Publication date: August 24, 2017Inventors: Shivaprasad RAMACHANDRA, Annal Ponnarasu GANESAN, Peter HUDÁK, Bernd HOPP, Helmut JECK, Walter LINK, Karthikeyan S.
