Patent number: 11922728Abstract: Where an event is determined to have occurred at a location within a vicinity of a plurality of actors, imaging data captured using cameras having the location is processed using one or more machine learning systems or techniques operating on the cameras to determine which of the actors is most likely associated with the event. For each relevant pixel of each image captured by a camera, the camera returns a set of vectors extending to pixels of body parts of actors who are most likely to have been involved with an event occurring at the relevant pixel, along with a measure of confidence in the respective vectors. A server receives the vectors from the cameras, determines which of the images depicted the event in a favorable view, based at least in part on the quality of such images, and selects one of the actors as associated with the event accordingly.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jaechul Kim, Nishitkumar Ashokkumar Desai, Jayakrishnan Kumar Eledath, Kartik Muktinutalapati, Shaonan Zhang, Hoi Cheung Pang, Dilip Kumar, Kushagra Srivastava, Gerard Guy Medioni, Daniel Bibireata

Publication number: 20230394831Abstract: This disclosure is directed to techniques in which a first user in an environment scans visual indicia associated with an item, such as a barcode, before handing the item to a second user. One or more computing devices may receive an indication of the scan, retrieve image data of the interaction from a camera within the environment, identify the user that received the item, and update a virtual cart associated with the second user to indicate addition of the item.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2023Publication date: December 7, 2023Inventors: Ivan Stankovic, Joseph M Alyea, Jiajun Zhao, Kartik Muktinutalapati, Waqas Ahmed, Dilip Kumar, Danny Guan, Nishitkumar Ashokkumar Desai, Longlong Zhu

Patent number: 11284041Abstract: In a materials handling facility, events may be associated with users based on imaging data captured from multiple fields of view. When an event is detected at a location within the fields of view of multiple cameras, two or more of the cameras may be identified as having captured images of the location at a time of the event. Users within the materials handling facility may be identified from images captured prior to, during or after the event, and visual representations of the respective actors may be generated from the images. The event may be associated with one of the users based on distances between the users' hands and the location of the event, as determined from the visual representations, or based on imaging data captured from the users' hands, which may be processed to determine which, if any, of such hands includes an item associated with the event.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2017Date of Patent: March 22, 2022Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Alessandro Bergamo, Pahal Kamlesh Dalal, Nishitkumar Ashokkumar Desai, Jayakrishnan Kumar Eledath, Marian Nasr Amin George, Jean Laurent Guigues, Gerard Guy Medioni, Kartik Muktinutalapati, Robert Matthias Steele, Lu Xia

Patent number: 9734599Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for image blending and/or facilitating image transitions. In an example, a map interface displays map information, such as of a town, through a visualization. A first image having a first level of detail and a first image type (e.g., satellite imagery of the town) may be displayed through the visualization. While zoomed into the town, a second image having a second level of detail and a second image type (e.g., aerial imagery of the town) may be displayed through the visualization. Instead of merely transitioning the visualization from displaying the first image to displaying the second image (during zooming), which may otherwise provide a visually abrupt transition, one or more intermediate blended images, having intermediate levels of detail between the first image and the second image, may be generated and displayed during the transition between the first image and the second image.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2014Date of Patent: August 15, 2017Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Dingding Liu, Thomas Donald Barclay, Bimal K. Mehta, Wolfgang Schickler, Kartik Muktinutalapati, Khomkrit Kaowthumrong

Publication number: 20100246890Abstract: A system described herein includes a detector component that automatically determines location of a license plate in a digital image. The system further includes a blurrer component that automatically blurs the digital image at the determined location of the license plate, wherein blurring undertaken by the blurrer component is based at least in part upon confidence scores assigned to pixels in the digital image that correspond to the determined location of the license plate.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2009Publication date: September 30, 2010Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Eyal Ofek, Ido Omer, Michael Kroepfl, Mark Tabb, Kartik Muktinutalapati
