  • Publication number: 20210112847
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a reconstituted plant material includes the steps of extracting a fibrous plant material with a solvent to provide an extract and a fibrous portion, separating the extract from the fibrous portion, forming a base sheet from the fibrous portion, and applying the extract to the base sheet. One or more additional steps may also be included, such as (but not limited to), combining a nicotine salt with the extract, extracting the extract with supercritical carbon dioxide, concentrating the extract to provide a concentrated extract, and/or combining a flavouring contained within a humectant or nicotine contained within a humectant with the extract.

  • Publication number: 20210068449
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a heat not burn (HNB) consumable comprising a plant product, wherein the plant product is formed into a planar slab (2) such that the consumable has a substantially rectangular transverse cross section. The planar slab of plant product may dosed with an aerosol former and may comprise a hydrophobic or liquid-impermeable outer coating. The consumable may further comprise a rectangular slab filter (4). In another embodiment, the plant product is formed into two planar slabs (2?, 2?) that are aligned and spaced from one another to define a planar recess (27) therebetween such that the consumable has a substantially rectangular transverse cross section. In another embodiment, the plant product is formed into a cuboid brick (9) having a hollow core (10). It also relates to a heat not burn system comprising such a consumable and a core heating element, wherein the core heating element is received in the hollow core. In another embodiment, the plant product is at least partly (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20210015148
Abstract: A heat not burn consumable (1) comprising a plant product (5) interspersed with a thermally conductive material in alternating layers such as radially or circumferentially alternating layers. The thermally conductive material may comprise at least one tubular element or may have a spiral configuration. The thermally conductive material may form spokes (4A-4E) within the plant product. A heating element may abut a first longitudinal end face (2) of the consumable (1) with a longitudinally-extending conductive element (6) which protruding axially from the longitudinal end face (2). The plant product (5) may have a smooth surface and the thermally conductive material (4) may be textured. The layers of thermally conductive material may have a grid configuration or a boustrophedonic configuration.

  • Publication number: 20200375244
Abstract: A heat not burn consumable (1) is provided. The consumable includes a tubular vapour generating member (7) defining a channel therethrough. At least an active portion of the vapour generating member is configured to be heated by a heater to produce vapour. The tubular vapour generating member has an inlet to the channel at a first end of the consumable, the first end of the consumable being for cooperation with a heating device. The active portion of the vapour generating member has a sidewall which has a thickness greater than 0.1 mm. This allows for rapid and consistent heating of the vapour generating member. The active portion comprises an amount of an active substance which is between 0.0001 milligrams per mm{circumflex over (?)}2 and 0.02 milligrams per mm{circumflex over (?)}2 of said internal surface area. The vapour generating member has an overall length which is greater than 50% of a total length of the consumable. This may allow for efficient manufacture of the consumable.
