Abstract: A method for displaying messages is disclosed. The method includes: displaying, on a display of an electronic device, a message thread listing view; while the message thread listing view is displayed, detecting a selection of one of the message threads; displaying a menu overlaying the message thread listing view, the menu including a user interface element associated with at least a reply-to-all action; detecting a selection of the user interface element associated with the reply-to-all action; and in response to detecting the selections of the message thread and the user interface element: automatically identifying an appropriate email message from the selected message thread based on at least a number of recipients of the appropriate message, wherein the appropriate message was received before at least one other message in the selected message thread; and replacing the message thread listing view with a message composition view for composing a reply-to-all message.

Abstract: A component manager may be used to install or upgrade components of a software suite. The component manager may be installed via an application store of an electronic device. The component manager may determine a plurality of applications to install or upgrade based at least in part on the versions of the applications, a version numbering scheme, and changes to a database schema associated with the software suite. The version numbering scheme is designed to maintain compatibility between the applications in the software suite. The component manager may install the plurality of applications and/or upgrade a database schema in order to maintain compatibility between the components of the software suite.

Abstract: A system and method for managing access to entry points in a graphical user interface on a communication device are provided. The entry points are associated with services such as message services and are actuatable to invoke a content listing display for viewing content associated with a given service. One entry point provides access to a unified inbox for display of messages received or sent via a plurality of message services. Other entry points provide access to other message services or filtered views of the unified inbox. Access to the various entry points is provided via a user interface displaying one or more user interface elements, such as icons, pointing to the various entry points. Display of the elements is managed so as to hide elements pointing to potentially duplicative views.

A list of message threads is displayed, collated according to a given message thread attribute, is displayed. When a new message is detected belonging to one of the message threads, if the message has a persistent status it is added to the message thread and the collating message thread attribute for that thread is updated. If the message has an intermediate status, it may be added to the message thread but the collating message thread attribute for that message is deferred until the intermediate status is changed to a persistent status. The collated list of message threads is then updated. By deferring updates to the collating message thread attribute when a message has an intermediate status, disruption to the order of the collated list is mitigated.
