  • Patent number: 10842371
Abstract: A vaginal speculum and side wall retractor allows clinicians to visualize the cervix and upper vagina by retracting vaginal walls simultaneously. This device is comprised of a handle, a mobile introducer allowing the device to comfortably be inserted vaginally, and a lower blade capable of stabilizing the cervix and a body containing the side wall retractor. This retractor is comprised of a rolled-up sheet of transparent plastic which can be opened through a rotating shaft countersunk in the body of the base. A friction or sprocket gear allows the rotating shaft to open and close the plastic side wall retractor as well as completely unwinding the transparent plastic sheet so that the device can be removed while leaving surgical instruments in the vagina. The rotating shaft serves as a light guide and brings light from the knob, which contains an LED, into the rolled-up sheet during examinations.

  • Publication number: 20200038131
Abstract: An organizing device for use during medical procedures is disclosed which, when used during laparoscopic or hysteroscopic surgery, enables the surgeon to keep multiple tubes, wires and cables organized. In a first embodiment, this device may have a rectangular shaped body, a top section with an integral ring at its center and a bottom section having a plurality of slots optimized for the insertion and retention of cables and tubes. The end sections contain, on one end a second integral ring, and on another a pivot point allowing a friction-closure latch mechanism to secure the slots. In a second embodiment, the device may have a donut shaped body, an integral ring at the center and a plurality of slots radially arranged at the periphery and secured through a cylindrical latching mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20190027253
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for determining a likelihood that an individual is ready. The methods, systems, and apparatus include actions of obtaining health data for a set of individuals, providing the health data for the set of individuals to a readiness classifier that classifies individuals as either ready or as not ready, obtaining, from the readiness classifier, classifications for each of the individuals of the set of individuals, generating, from the classifications for each of the individuals of the first set of individuals, a readiness risk scoring model that determines a risk that an individual is not ready from health data of the individual, obtaining health data regarding a particular individual, and determining, from the health data regarding the particular individual and the readiness risk scoring model, a risk that the particular individual is not ready.
