The slider top is located within the interior of encasement and the slider initially is in a first position, capable of transitioning to a second position and further capable of transitioning to a third position. Wherein in the first position the slide bottom face is coincident with the encasement bottom, in the second position the slide bottom face is fully contained in the interior, and in the third position, the slide bottom face extends beyond the encasement bottom by a gap.

The system also has an electronics module interfaced with the sensor probe that includes a transceiver to transmit sensor data. The system further includes control circuitry that determines a choline state based on the first set of electrodes and determines a tissue oxygen state based on the second set of electrodes. Where the reactive chemistry has a minimum molecular weight and a hydrogel is located over the reactive chemistry. The hydrogel is in contact with the insulation and the reactive chemistry and the hydrogel has a porosity less than the minimum molecular weight of the reactive chemistry.

The sensor assembly is detachably coupled to a slider in a first position. The slider is coupled to an energy storage system. When the slider transitions to a second position, the sensor assembly is coupled to the electronics assembly to define an on-body assembly. The transition to the second position loads the energy storage system and upon actuation, the energy storage system is unloaded to transition the slider to the first position and the on-body assembly is positioned to decouple from the slider.
