    Abstract: Porcine models for studying bacterial gastritis and gastric and duodenal ulcer disease caused by Campylobacter pathogens, such as C. coli are described, as well as methods of identifying vaccines and compounds for treating and/or preventing Campylobacter infection using the animal models. Also described are methods of preventing Campylobacter infection in swine, such as infection caused by C. coli, using immunogenic proteins and nucleic acids derived from Campylobacter pathogens, such as C. coli.
