    Abstract: A sensor for selectively capturing a targeted cell type in a fluid includes an engineered surface. The engineered surface includes a substrate, a non-adhesive element disposed on at least a portion of a substrate, and an adhesive element disposed on the substrate. The sensor also includes a flow channel in operative contact with the engineered surface; and a detector configured to detect the targeted cell type captured on the engineered surface. Also described is a method for selectively capturing target cell types using the engineered surface.
