Abstract: A bed rail cover for removable placement over a bed side rail comprises two spaced, opposed side panels joined along their side and top edges to a border strip, the panels and border strip being composed of an elastomeric material. A flap of elastomeric material attaches the cover to the bed, preventing bed occupants from placing their appendages through the gap between the mattress and the rail. Use of elastomeric material allows the cover to accommodate changes in the relative positions of the mattress and rails and between rail segments when the mattress position is adjusted.
