  • Publication number: 20130325071
Abstract: Misaligned bones on opposite sides of a joint are aligned using a first rigid extension securable to one of the misaligned bones using a particular surgical approach, and a second rigid extension having a contacting surface positionable in contact with the other the two misaligned bones from the same surgical approach. The first and second rigid extensions are moved with respect to each other using a lever, whereby a pulling force is exerted on one of the bones, and a pushing force on the other, thereby aligning the first and second misaligned bones.

  • Publication number: 20080086345
Abstract: Systems and methods for asset data collection, presentation, and management. In one general aspect, a Web portal provides a centralized end-to-end view of IT operations of an organization. The portal may, for example, provide an organization's view of operations and asset data. Visibility of accurate data on an organization-wide scale allows managers to spot issues immediately, respond quickly, and offer continuous improvement.

  • Publication number: 20040002157
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a method for packaging a gene and genetic constructs useful for same. The method of the present invention represents a new packaging strategy involving vectors comprising retroviral elements and provides for a more efficacious gene therapy and gene modifying protocol. Accordingly, the present invention provides a genetic construct useful as a nucleic acid delivery vector comprising a retroviral packaging signal, a nucleotide sequence derived from viral RNA and which, in RNA form, is translatable to at least one protein and means to facilitate entry of a second nucleotide sequence and wherein said genetic construct, in an RNA form, is capable of being packaged in the presence of retroviral proteins provided in trans with greater efficiency than a genetic construct comprising a packaging signal and said second nucleotide sequence without a nucleotide sequence derived from a retrovirus and which, in RNA form, is capable of translation into a viral protein.
