  • Patent number: 11959068
Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided for use in controlling souring and corrosion causing prokaryotes, such as SRP, by treating oil and gas field environments or treatment fluids with a newly identified bacterial strain ATCC Accession No. PTA-124262 as a self-propagating whole cell that produces an anti-SRP bacteriocin in situ. In another aspect, the methods use one or more toxic peptides or proteins isolated therefrom in methods to control unwanted prokaryotic growth in these environments.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 27, 2023
Date of Patent: April 16, 2024
    Assignee: Lanxess Corporation
Inventors: Kathleen Manna, Ian A. Tomlinson, Abhiram Thatipelli, Christopher Janes, Elizabeth J. Summer

  • Publication number: 20150197643
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polymer comprising hindered primary amine groups bonded to the backbone of the polymer by way of an amide, ester, or thioester linkage. The polymer is particularly useful as an adjuvant, especially for isothiazolone, and as a dispersant and stain blocker in coatings formulations.

    Publication date: July 16, 2015
Inventors: Sudhakar Balijepalli, Douglas R. Hawkins, Kathleen Manna, Lidaris San Miguel Rivera, Shubhangi Hemant Nair
  • Patent number: 8841360
Abstract: The present invention relates to a coatings composition comprising an alkyd, a pigment, a rheology modifier, a radical producing oxidoreductase, and one or more additives, wherein the alkyd contains at least one C6-30—C(O)O— group having at least one diallylic group. The coatings composition of the present invention cures relatively rapidly without ancillary crosslinking agents and with minimal, if any, VOCs from solvents or coalescents.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 2, 2012
Date of Patent: September 23, 2014
    Assignee: Rohm and Haas Company
Inventors: Selvanathan Arumugam, Ralph Even, David L. Fratarelli, Kathleen Manna, Wei-Wen Tsai
  • Patent number: 8759416
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process comprising adding a sufficient amount of a halamine with a latex binder to achieve microbial prophylaxis, wherein the halamine is characterized by the following formula: wherein X1 is H, Br, or Cl; X2 is Br or Cl; and R1 is H or a C1-30 alkyl group or mixtures thereof. The present invention also relates to a composition comprising the halamine and a latex binder. The present invention provides a quick kill shelf stable preservative for latex binders and for formulations that use such binders.
