  • Publication number: 20230204575
Abstract: The precision of a lateral flow assay for determining the concentration of an analyte in the plasma fraction of a sample of whole blood can be significantly improved by applying an integrated step for determining the hematocrit of the optionally diluted sample, and taking both hematocrit and dilution factor into account when calculating the concentration of the analyte. This is made possible inter alia by using a predetermined wavelength when taking an image of the sample after application to a substrate in the lateral flow assay device, and wherein said wavelength is selected based on the dilution factor used. This hematocrit measurement is advantageously integrated in lateral flow assay methods and devices for the measurement of an analyte in plasma and contributes significantly to an improved precision of such assays.

  • Publication number: 20220074956
Abstract: A hematocrit level in a sample of whole blood can be determined in a lateral flow assay setting, where a sample of whole blood is applied to a substrate on which a blood spot is formed; taking an image of said blood spot within 1-300 seconds from application, subjecting said image to image analysis, and determining the hematocrit level based on a value of at least one parameter extracted from said image. Such reagent-free hematocrit measurement can be integrated in lateral flow assay devices for the measurement of an analyte and contribute to significantly improved precision of such assays.

  • Patent number: 8263416
Abstract: There is a demand for improved turbidimetric immunoassays for human Cystatin C in biological samples, especially in human clinical samples of body fluids. The present invention provides a turbidimetric immunoassay method and reagent set enabling measurement of human Cystatin C by turbidimetric methods, resulting in a surprisingly stronger and faster turbidimetric signal than in the present state of the art. The increased and faster signal is accomplished by the use of new reagents and compositions, and enables shorter assay times and kinetic reading with a stronger signal, improving overall assay speed and quality. Improved robustness to lipid interference and improved linearity is achieved.
