  • Patent number: 11179141
Abstract: A biopsy system includes various features. A tissue sample holder kit of the system comprises a rotatable member with chambers configured to receive tissue receiving features of a tissue sample tray. A biopsy device of the system includes user input features and user feedback features disposed on a body. A user interface of the system includes a graphical representation of a tissues ample holder. A biopsy site marker applier of the system includes markings associated with different biopsy device configurations. The biopsy system may undergo a multi-step initialization process. In operation, the biopsy system may execute pneumatic control algorithms including the use of vacuum, saline, and atmospheric air.

  • Publication number: 20190247028
Abstract: A biopsy system, including a probe set, a holster, and a user interface. The probe set includes a plurality of probes. Each probe of the probe set includes a probe body, a needle, a cutter, and a tissue sample holder. The tissue sample holder is in communication with the cutter to receive one or more tissue samples. The holster is selectively securable to each probe of the probe set. The user interface is in communication with the holster. The user interface includes a display. The user interface is configured to identify which probe of the probe set is secured to the holster when a selected probe of the probe set is secured to the holster.

  • Publication number: 20120283563
Abstract: A biopsy system includes a needle, a cutter movable relative to the needle to sever a tissue sample, a processing module, a tissue sensor, and an indicator. The tissue sensor is operable to sense a tissue sample severed by the cutter. The processing module is operable to drive the indicator based on information from the tissue sensor. The indicator may include an audible indicator and/or a visual indicator. The indication provided by the indicator may vary based on sensed qualities of the tissue sample. The indicator may be integrated into a biopsy instrument or may be provided as part of a remote unit. The biopsy system may also include a multi-chamber tissue sample holder. A graphical user interface may indicate which chambers of the tissue sample holder are occupied by tissue samples.
