Disposed between the inner and outer rotors is a double-wall containment shroud, which includes an outer shroud and an inner shroud. Each of the inner and outer shrouds includes a flange, a middle section and a bottom section, wherein a gap is disposed between the middle section and the bottom section. The inner shroud is connected by its flange to the flange of the outer shroud. The gap is filled at least in sections with a solid material.
