  • Patent number: 8346293
Abstract: There are provided a plurality of systems of reconfigurable radio processing unit (102) whose function and performance can be modified. A control unit (104) collects quality information on the communication link in communication methods received at respective radio processing systems (102a, 102b). According to this, the control unit (104) selects an optimal communication method and transmission mode from a plurality of communication methods and transmission modes (for example, diversity transmission between a plurality of systems, diversity transmission by a single communication method, and MIMO channel multiplex transmission). By modifying configurations of the reconfigurable radio processing unit (102) according to the selected communication method and transmission mode, it is possible to communicate at a desired transmission mode. Thus, it is possible to perform an optimal transmission to the communication link according to the quality condition and other request condition.

  • Publication number: 20120327212
Abstract: The present invention enables provision of a defect observation device that reduces wait time from an end of pickup of a reference image and accompanying processing to a start of pickup of a defect image compared to conventional ones by making a pixel count resolution of the reference image be low compared to a pixel count of the defect image in an image pickup unit using an electronic microscope for automatic fine defect classification, whereby a throughput enhanced compared to those of conventional ones can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20120236962
Abstract: A transmitting apparatus, includes a signal generator that generates a modulation signal by modulating transmission data using one of a plurality of modulation schemes, a first modulation scheme having a higher m-ary modulation value than other modulation schemes and a pilot signal generator generates a pilot signal. An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal generator generates an OFDM signal by selecting the modulation signal and the pilot signal according to the frame timing signal. The OFDM signal is converted to a radio signal, is amplified and is transmitted to an antenna. The pilot signal is inserted in the OFDM signal per a predetermined OFDM symbol and per a predetermined subcarrier and has a lower amplitude than a maximum amplitude of the first modulation scheme in an in-phase-quadrature (IQ) plane.

  • Patent number: 8179185
Abstract: A sampling mixer includes TAs (transconductance amplifiers), an in-phase mixer section connected to the TA and the TA, an opposite-phase mixer section connected in parallel with the in-phase mixer section, and a signal generator for generating a control signal for the in-phase mixer section and the opposite-phase mixer section respectively. The IIR filter using signals that underwent a current conversion by using the different transconductances is constructed, so that the filter characteristic can be designed by a weighting of the transconductance in addition to a capacitance ratio. As a result, the wide-band filter characteristic and the band-pass filter characteristic can be obtained, and deterioration of the receiving sensitivity can be suppressed by designing the filter characteristic suitable for the radio communication system.

  • Patent number: 8164380
Abstract: A sampling filter of such circuitry as not requiring a high frequency REF signal even if the number of decimation is decreased. In the sampling filter, the rotate capacitor in each switched capacitor circuit including Cr (7a-7d) arranged in four parallel arrays operates in four phases of integration, discharge, reset and feedback different from each other at the same timing. Consequently, a control signal for driving the switched capacitor circuit is used commonly. As a result, the circuit scale of a DCU (104) is reduced and the frequency of the REF signal can be lowered to the frequency of an LO signal even in operation without decimation.

  • Publication number: 20120086504
Abstract: Disclosed are a nonlinear distortion compensating receiver and nonlinear distortion compensation method, wherein nonlinear distortion is reduced with a simple circuit configuration. A correction (opposite characteristics) filter (104) has characteristics opposite that of the frequency characteristics of a direct sampling mixer (102) and corrects signals sampled by the direct sampling mixer (102). In the main path, a LPF (106) extracts a frequency band component of a desired signal from the corrected signal. In the replica path, a BPF (107) extracts the frequency band component of a blocker signal from the corrected signal. A cubing circuit (108) uses the frequency band component of the blocker signal to generate a replica signal for the nonlinear distortion. An adaptive filter (110) performs filter processing on the replica signal while updating the filter coefficients.

  • Publication number: 20120027124
Abstract: Channel fluctuation values on propagation paths of modulated signals transmitted from a plurality of antennas are estimated, an eigenvalue of a channel fluctuation matrix created with the above-mentioned channel fluctuation values as elements is found in order to relate antenna received signals to modulated signals, and using that eigenvalue, receiving antenna selection, combining of modulated signals, and weighting processing on soft decision decoded values, are performed, and modulated signals are demodulated. By this means, it is possible to perform demodulation processing based on the effective reception power of a modulated signal (that is to say, the essential reception power, of the reception power obtained by a receiving apparatus, that can be effectively used when demodulating a modulated signal), enabling the precision of demodulation of modulated signals to be improved.
