  • Patent number: 5398192
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a correction lens for exposing a phosphor screen of a cathode ray tube, an effective surface of the correction lens is divided into a plurality of regions and an orbit of light beam corresponding to an orbit of electron beam is analyzed for each of regions to determine segment surface equation in the same expression form for the respective regions. A final surface equation is derived from the segment surface equations in consideration of an allowable error and the correction lens is formed on the basis of the final surface equation.

  • Patent number: 5176556
Abstract: Magnetization of a magnetic member used for correcting the static convergence and color purity of a color cathode ray tube apparatus must be performed in consideration of the influences of geomagnetism. A magnetization unit used for magnetizing the magnetic member changes the state of geomagnetism around the neck of the apparatus. However, the magnetization unit can establish the same state of geomagnetism as that obtained when the magnetization unit is not arranged. This allows accurate correction of the static convergence and the color purity.

  • Patent number: 5132187
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a color cathode ray tube, a photosensitive layer is formed on a inner surface of a panel and a shadow mask is mounted in the panel. The photosensitive layer is exposed to a light beam which is emitted from a light source and passes through a lens system, a shutter and apertures of the shadow mask to form a pattern corresponding to the apertures of the shadow mask in an exposure step. In the exposure step, the shutter is moved along the inner surface of the panel and the light source is also moved in synchronism with the movement of the shutter. Thus, the light beam is so shifted as to satisfy the .gamma.-.DELTA.p characteristic of the cathode ray tube, which reflects the angle of deflection .gamma. of the electron beam and the corresponding displacement of the center (F) of the deflection .DELTA.p from where the center of deflection would be when the angle of deflection is zero.

  • Patent number: 4900979
Abstract: In a color cathode ray apparatus, three electron beams emitted from electron gun assembly are correctly converged on a peripheral region of a peripheral region of a phosphor screen and are weakly converged on a center region of the phosphor screen by static convergence means. The electron beams are also converged by dynamic convergence means so as to correct the weak convergence in accordance with a horizontal deflection of the electron beams. Thus, the electron beams can be correctly converged all over the phosphor screen.

  • Patent number: 4881015
Abstract: In a color cathode-ray apparatus, electron beams emitted from an electron gun assembly are deflected along horizontal and vertical axes by horizontal and vertical deflecting units. The horizontal deflecting unit includes first and second horizontal deflecting yokes which are located such that the center of the second horizontal deflecting yoke is defined between the center of the first horizontal deflecting yoke and the electron gun assembly. First and second horizontal deflection currents are supplied to the first and second horizontal deflecting yokes and are changed in different manners, in accordance with a degree to which the electron beams are to be deflected, and the first and seocnd deflection yokes generate pincushion and barrel magnetic fields, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4876478
Abstract: In a color cathode ray tube, electron beams generated from an electron gun assembly of an in-line type are deflected by horizontal and vertical deflection magnetic fields. The horizontal deflection magnetic field includes a main magnetic field and an auxiliary magnetic field. The main magnetic field has a barrel-shaped distribution and is substantially symmetrically formed about a Y-Z plane and the auxiliary magnetic field is substantially antisymmetric about the Y-Z plane.

  • Patent number: 4849676
Abstract: Of three electron beams produced by an in-line type color cathode ray tube having a deflection device for producing uniform vertical and horizontal deflection fields, two beams are driven by G and B image signals that are delayed by CCDs in accordance with beam deflection positions on a fluorescent screen, so as to converge with the remaining one electron beam. A horizontal sync signal is also delayed by a CCD to remove a grid image deformation in accordance with the beam deflection positions. The amount of this delay is attained by reading out delay data stored in advance in a memory and supplying the delay data to a counter which are driven by horizontal and vertical deflection signals. An address decorder is provided to decode the contents of the counter to access the memory.
