  • Patent number: 7410573
Abstract: A waste water purification system for purifying polluted salt water including oil and the like by coagulating and separating pollutant matter in the polluted salt water can regenerate and reuse a coagulant in the system while scarcely resupplying the coagulant, an acid solution and an alkaline solution. The acid and alkaline solutions are required for disintegrating coagulated flocs from the polluted salt water and regenerating the coagulant from sludge. Alkaline water enriched in sodium hydroxide and an acidic aqueous solution containing hydrochloric acid and the like are generated by electrolyzing the purified salt water. The flocs in the separated sludge are disintegrated by use of the alkaline water, pollutant matter is removed from the disintegrated aqueous solution, and the strong acidic containing the hydrochloric acid is added to the aqueous solution removed of the pollutant matter to have the coagulant. The coagulant can be thus regenerated from the recovered sludge.

  • Publication number: 20050230299
Abstract: Conventional purification apparatuses and operation methods therefor require continuous addition of coagulants as expendables in every operation, and the coagulants are expensive, thereby causing increase in operation cost, and furthermore, the operators have to convey and resupply the coagulant at regular intervals which further increases the operation cost owing to the personnel cost to be increased accordingly. The invention provides a purification apparatus and an operation method therefor, for coagulating and separating particularly the pollutant matter in sea water including oil and the like, which can regenerate and reuse the coagulant within the apparatus, without scarcely resupplying the coagulant and acid/alkali solutions. For disintegrating coagulated flocs and regenerating the coagulant from the sludge, a strong alkali solution and a strong acid solution are required.

  • Patent number: 6093318
Abstract: An improved apparatus for removing magnetic material from a flowing fluid such as water by magnetic separation has a single set of electromagnets which are used with a plurality of magnetic filters for continuous magnetic separation operation alternately without obstructing the flow of the fluid being processed. A high-gradient magnetic filter arrangement which passes through a magnetic field generated by the magnets is made up of at least two magnetic filters separated by a watertight partition. When the fluid being processed is flowing through one of the magnetic filters, the other filter is removed from the flow of the fluid into a magnetic filter housing which is separated from the fluid flow through the magnetic filter by means of partitions. Backwashing of this other magnetic filter is carried out while purification of the fluid being processed by the former magnetic filter continues uninterrupted.

  • Patent number: 4975405
Abstract: There is provided by this invention a finely divided hydrated silica gel which has a specific surface area of 530 -720 m.sup.2 /g, preferably 550-650 m.sup.2 /g, a pore volume of 0.9-1.5 ml/g, preferably 1.0-1.4 ml/g, a mean pore diameter of 50-120 .ANG., preferably 60-100 .ANG., a water content of 7-25% by weight, preferably 8-13% by weight (wet weight basis), and moreover the pH of which as a 5% aqueous suspension is 6.0-8.0, thereby producing a silica gel suitable for stabilization treatment of beer, and for reduction of the colloidal components in beer.

  • Patent number: 4887059
Abstract: The iron core of an electromagnet includes a stack of steel sheets stacked perpendicular to a horizontal axis, presents a sectional shape symmetrical with respect to the horizontal axis and is provided therein with a groove of a specified shape. The iron core is produced by stacking and integrating a desired number of steel sheets into a one-piece iron core and finally forming the specific shaped groove therein. Accordingly, no gaps are generated in the iron core and the density thereof becomes high even in the case of a sector iron core. Furthermore, the groove formation is conducted as a final step after the integration of the stacked steel sheets. Thus the heat during the welding operation for such an integration has no adverse effect on the groove in the iron core and the problem of lack of magnetic force is solved thereby.

  • Patent number: 4654961
Abstract: In a superconductive coil having no bobbin in its inside, there is provided a method for producing a superconducting coil having a good cooling ability. The method is characterized in that the superconducting coil is formed around a bobbin, a support cylinder is fitted around the outer periphery of the bobbin and thereafter, the bobbin is removed apart from the coil. A desired prestress may be applied from the support cylinder to the outer periphery of the coil. Therefore, it is possible to improve a thermal conductance and prevent the coil from moving during the superconducting operation.
