  • Patent number: 5916255
Abstract: An outdoor unit of a separate type air conditioner has suction ports and a blow-out port which can be disposed freely on the same side of the unit. Also, an outdoor unit of a one-side suction and exhaust type is excellent in static pressure characteristic, sufficient in air flow rate using only one blower, and is easy to install. Suction ports (8) are disposed at both sides in the front side of an outdoor unit main body (outer case 7), and a blow-out port (6a) is disposed in the center of the front side. A heat exchanger (3), an orifice (5), and one centripetal fan (1) are sequentially disposed behind the blow-out port (6a), thereby forming a draft circuit for sucking air from the suction ports (8) at the outer circumference of blades (1a) of the centripetal fan (1). The air is blown out ahead of the blades (1a) through the orifice (5) and heat exchanger (3). Therefore, since suction space is not required, the outdoor unit can be installed close to a wall.

  • Patent number: 5505057
Abstract: A pattern classification system includes a plurality of classification sections. Each of the classification sections includes a device for storing information of N coefficients W representing a reference pattern, a device for calculating an evaluation value V on the basis of N input signals S and the N coefficients W, the N input signals representing an input pattern, the evaluation value V representing a relation between the input pattern and the reference pattern, a device for storing information of a fixed threshold value R, and a device for comparing the evaluation value V and the threshold value R and for outputting an estimation signal depending on a result of the comparing, the estimation signal including a category signal P which represents a category. A selection section is operative for selecting one of categories in response to the category signals outputted from the classification sections and for outputting a signal Px representing the selected one of the categories.

  • Patent number: 4781738
Abstract: A gas-liquid contactor for varying the mixing ratio of a non-azeotropic refrigerant circulated through a refrigeration cycle, wherein each of pieces of a filler filled in a filler bed of the gas-liquid contactor is composed of a substantially cylindrical member with a peripheral surface having convexities and concavities. This form of the filler provides a voidage in the bed of the filler suitable for upward flow of the gaseous phase of the refrigerant through the filler bed and, at the same time, provides a large area for the contact between the gaseous phase and the liquid phase of the refrigerant by virtue of the presence of many convexities and concavities.

  • Patent number: 4769999
Abstract: A gas-liquid contactor for varying the mixing ratio of a non-azeotropic refrigerant circulated through a refrigeration cycle. A liquid returning pipe leading from a liquid refrigerant reservoir has a lower end which is opened downward into the container of the gas-liquid contactor at a position substantially on the axis of the container, so that the returned liquid refrigerant can be uniformly distributed over the entire region of the filler bed so as to enhance exchange of heat between the gaseous phase and the liquid phase of the refrigerant. A lower filler holder defining the lower end of a bed of filler in the gas-liquid contactor is convexed upward at its central portion so as to smoothly guide the flow of gaseous phase of the refrigerant into the filler bed.
