  • Patent number: 6733162
Abstract: A vehicle lamp. A lamp chamber is partitioned by a lamp body in a vessel-like shape and by a front face lens, a reflector is attachedly inserted with a light source and is contained in the lamp chamber, and an aiming mechanism is interposed between the lamp body and the reflector for supporting the reflector inclinably to the lamp body. The reflector is inclined by rotating an aiming screw supported by a screw inserting hole provided at the lamp body. A rear end portion of the aiming screw projects to the rear side of the lamp body and includes an integrated crown gear made of a metal. A disk face of the gear is provided with a raised wrench engaging portion for engaging with an L-shaped wrench to thereby operate to rotate the aiming screw by using the L-shaped wrench extending from the side of the lamp piece. Aiming screw adjustments can be carried out even when there is no rear space behind the lamp piece. The wrench engaging portion can be formed simply.

  • Patent number: 5535103
Abstract: A vehicular headlamp which includes a lamp housing and a reflector tiltably supported within the lamp housing by an aiming screw and aiming fulcrums. The aiming screw penetrates the lamp housing and is rotatably supported thereby. The front end of the aiming screw engages the reflector while the rear end protrudes from the lamp housing and is secured to a gear. An adjustment shaft is rotatably supported by the lamp housing, a rear end of the adjustment shaft being fixed to a gear engaging with the gear of the aiming screw. The two gears constitute a gear section which is covered with a cover member having an opening which opens downward, thereby preventing foreign matter such as dirt, water or dust from adhering to the gear section and allowing foreign matter to be immediately discharged from the cover member.

  • Patent number: 5469339
Abstract: A reflector consists of a reflecting portion and a wall portion surrounding it and is rectangular when viewed from the front side. A reference curve is formed on a horizontal plane including the optical axis by connecting outer portions of a parabola having a focus F1 located on the optical axis and a focal length f1, and portions of two parabolas having foci F2 and F2' located on their axes parallel with the optical axis and a focal length f2 (>f1). A reflecting surface is formed as a collection of cross-sectional curves each obtained by cutting an imaginary paraboloid of revolution set for each point on the reference curve and having an axis extending along a ray reflected at that point after being emitted from the focus F1 by a vertical plane including the axis of the paraboloid of revolution.
