  • Patent number: 6529468
Abstract: For providing an optical disk driving device that is capable of accurately performing recording and reproduction of even disks that include warpage without the provision of a tilt mechanism, a clamper is comprised of a central clamper portion for pinching and holding a disk between the clamper and a turntable, and an outer clamper portion for abutting against an outer periphery of the disk and pressurizing the same in case the disk includes any warpage to thereby correct the warpage. It is accordingly possible to restrict an angle formed between a light beam and an information surface of the disk to be within a specified value for accurately performing reproduction.

  • Patent number: 6370100
Abstract: A disc transfer mechanism that allows a disc to be reliably installed and removed, which includes a damper device between a base and a tray to reduce the moving speed of the tray using the urging force of a spring. The damper device includes a first damper interposed between the tray and the base to reduce the tray moving speed during all tray moving steps, and a second damper that operates separately from the first damper during the step of delivering a disc set on a turntable to the tray.

  • Publication number: 20010017835
Abstract: It is an object of he present invention to provide a disc transfer mechanism that allows a disc to be reliably installed and removed. As shown in FIG. 3, this invention includes a damper means provided between a base (2) and a tray (1) to reduce the moving speed of the tray (1) using the urging force of a spring (3). The damper means comprises a first damper (45) interposed between the tray (1) and the base (2) to reduce the tray moving speed during all the tray moving steps and a second damper that operates, separately from the first damper (45), during the step of delivering a disc set on a turntable to the tray.

  • Patent number: 6212139
Abstract: A disk changer apparatus for selectively reproducing a plurality of disks has a disk delivery unit arranged on the front of a stocker tray for holding a plurality of disks and adapted to move along the direction in which the disks are arranged on the front of the stocker tray. By depressing an eject button providing an operating unit for the disk delivery unit, a push-up lever advances into the stocker tray from a bottom opening of the stocker tray. As a result, a disk held in the stocker tray is taken out forward of the stocker tray by the rotation of the push-up lever, and is retained by a disk receiving lever of the disk delivery unit.

  • Patent number: 6160781
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a disc transfer mechanism that includes a simply configured tray to be moved and that is reliable in installing and removing a disc. When a tray (1) is drawn out as shown in FIG. 8(a), a positioning protrusion (33a) of a disc receiving member (23) determines a position at which a disc (34) is placed. The tray (1) is pushed in as shown in FIGS. 8(b) to 8(c) until a central hole (35) in the disc (34) reaches a position over a turntable (9). Subsequently, a disc receiving member (23) moves to the front end of the tray (1) relative to the movement of the tray to the internal end as shown in FIGS. 8(d) and (e) to enable the disc to be installed and removed stably.

  • Patent number: 6091696
Abstract: It is an object of this invention to provide an inexpensive and high-quality disc changer by inserting a plurality of spacers and discs around a pair of spindles without the need for a stocker and subtrays. A vertical drive means drives a group of spacers (40) held by a disk holding means to select an arbitrary disc (12) from a group of discs (12), and a horizontal transfer means transfers it to a sound recording/reproduction position. An elevation return means prevents the disc (12) from slipping out from the spacer (40) on both spindles (19, 25). A disc presser means prevents the disc (12) from slipping out from the spacer (40). A spacer detachment prevention means prevents the spacer (40) from being detached from the lower spindle (19).

  • Patent number: 5771213
Abstract: A disc changer includes a tray support horizontally movable between a disc mounting position and a playing position in a housing; a rotation shaft on the tray support; and a tray rotatable around the rotation shaft and having a plurality of disc carrying areas each for carrying a disc, the disc carrying areas being equally angularly spaced. The tray has a generally polygonal profile, and the tray support has a width which is shorter than the effective diameter of the tray.

  • Patent number: 5531132
Abstract: A cam apparatus including a cam gear having a toothless area and teeth at a circumferential surface thereof and also having a first projection and a second projection on a surface thereof; a driving gear for engaging the teeth of the cam gear to rotate the cam gear by a driving force transmitted from a motor through a deceleration mechanism; a lever for engaging another surface of the cam gear thus to pivot in accordance with rotation of the cam gear; a lock lever having an end for sequentially engaging the first and the second projections of the cam gear while the driving gear is opposed to the toothless area of the cam gear; a spring for biasing the lock lever to engage the first projection; and an electromagnet for engaging another end of the lock lever. The lock lever is positioned to be released from the first projection and to engage the second projection before the driving gear engages the teeth of the cam gear when the electromagnet is turned ON.
