  • Publication number: 20230047614
Abstract: There is provided with an information processing apparatus. An approximate discrimination unit discriminates an approximate type of an object from a first captured image obtained by capturing the object to which identification information is added. A setting unit sets, based on the approximate type of the object, an image capturing condition for capturing an image to obtain the identification information. A detail discrimination unit identifies the identification information from a second captured image obtained by capturing the object under the image capturing condition and discriminates a detailed type of the object based on a result of the identification.

  • Patent number: 8774605
Abstract: A display apparatus receives video data and plays back the received video data in real time. The display apparatus records history information indicating user operations performed in relation to video display when the video data is being played back and the operation time. Subsequently, to redisplay the video data, the display apparatus acquires appropriate video data from an external apparatus and plays back the video data in real time while reproducing the user operations indicated by history information, according to operation times.

  • Publication number: 20130329068
Abstract: In the case of a conventional image apparatus that generates refocus image on the occasion of image display, there is a waiting time because the image apparatus generates the refocus image in response to an operation of a user and requires the time to generate the refocus image. To address this situation, an image apparatus determines ranks of targets to be in focus based on history information indicating operation history, and generates sequentially combined image data from multi-viewpoint image data obtained by capturing images from multiple viewpoints, by focusing on the targets in accordance with the determined ranks.

  • Patent number: 7305102
Abstract: A method for displaying a locus of positions on a map is disclosed. In the method, positions where images have been picked up by a digital camera device are determined based on characters included in the picked up images, and a locus of the determined positions of the images are displayed on a map to show a route in which the camera device has been transferred. Also, attributes of characters included in a picked up image are judged to decide whether the characters indicate a name of place or a station name, for example, and a map that matches the judgment is displayed. For example, a road map may be displayed when the characters are determined to indicate a name of place, and a railroad route map may be displayed when the characters are determined to indicate a station name. Furthermore, a position determined based on the characters may be displayed on the map that matches the attribute of the characters to show where in the map the image was picked up.

  • Patent number: 6606662
Abstract: The authorization of a user is performed in such a way that the user inputs one or more characters to a portable terminal apparatus using a pen input apparatus, and the handwriting of the input character(s) is compared with the handwriting of the authorized user, which is stored (e.g., in a flash ROM) in advance. When it is determined that the portable terminal apparatus is being used by an unauthorized user, a communication device is activated, and the server is notified of the fact that the portable terminal apparatus is being used by the unauthorized user.

  • Patent number: 6346873
Abstract: A parent node transmits a third specific message to child nodes as a broadcast message if a first specific message indicating the start of the child node collides with another message so that normal receiving cannot be performed. Then, the parent node sequentially transmits second specific messages to each child node and then receives responses to recognize the states of the children nodes. The parent node transmits a specific message indicating a realization of a sleeping state as a broadcast message to the children nodes, followed by transmitting a specific message when data to be transmitted from the child node has been generated. The parent node cancels the sleeping state when it receives the specific message.

  • Patent number: 6323839
Abstract: A pointed-position detecting apparatus where image output unit visually displays an image, and image input unit inputs the displayed visible image. The input visible image is stored into memory as an original image. The visible image is partially changed by using a manipulation device such as a laser pointer or a pointing rod, and the visible image with the partially-changed area is inputted from the image input unit. Controller extract the changed image area from the input visible image, and detects a pointed position based on the changed image area. Thus, the phenomenon where a user's action with respect to a displayed image is reflected as a change in the image is utilized to detect coordinates and motion at the image area as the object of change.

  • Patent number: 6310662
Abstract: A display method and apparatus for displaying information by projecting a light onto an external projection plane is capable of detecting a deviation amount of a displayed image projected on the projection plane with respect to the display apparatus. Output image data is changed based on the detected deviation amount to offset a distortion of the displayed image, which is displayed using the changed output image data.

  • Patent number: 6300933
Abstract: An electronic apparatus includes an acceleration sensor, an inclination detector, a pushbutton switch, a use condition detector, a screen control determiner, a screen, and a screen controller. The apparatus is controlled in a method that enables the execution of control in which the contents of operation intended by the user are exactly reflected. The acceleration sensor and the inclination detector detect an inclination of the apparatus. The use condition detector detects the use of the apparatus, based on whether the pushbutton switch is turned on or not. The screen control determiner determines whether or not to execute screen control, based on both the inclination detected by the inclination detector and the use of the apparatus detected by the use condition detector. The screen controller controls the screen, based on the result determined by the screen control determiner.

  • Patent number: 6278445
Abstract: A coordinate input device interpolates sampling data, using less input data and simpler computing. The input data (coordinate information indicative of an input trace) are sampled both with a predetermined cycle (Tn), and at the end of a predetermined time interval after the sampling of the cycle Tn is complete. As a result of the two different samplings, not only the coordinate point determined by the sampling of cycle Tn, but also information indicative of a tangent vector at each coordinate point on the input trace are obtained. The coordinate point and the associated tangent vector information are thus output, so that a trace more faithful to the input trace is obtained using fewer coordinate points.

  • Patent number: 6031634
Abstract: An image information transmitting/receiving apparatus for time and cost-saving repetitive transmission. In facsimile communication, image data where further information is added to previously-transmitted image data is often received. In the present apparatus, the original image data is stored, and only difference data from the original image data is transmitted, thus the whole image can be reproduced at the receiving side, using the received difference data. Upon transmitting the difference image information, identification information identifying the difference image information is added to the difference information, and the entire image data to be received by the receiving side is stored. Upon receiving the difference image information, the received difference information is combined with the stored image data, and an image is reproduced based on the combined image data. Further, the image data used for image reproduction is stored as original image data for the next transmission.

  • Patent number: 5982928
Abstract: A system consisting of a plurality of terminals connected through communication is sometimes used to acquire information input from the terminals to a host terminal and edit/arrange the information in the host terminal when information is exchanged by inputting handwritten characters from the terminals. In this case, the host terminal must recognize the handwritten characters and thereafter process the characters to arrange the handwritten character information. Each terminal can perform character recognition by a unique character recognizing method. The terminals also individually prepare dictionaries for recognition. The host terminal returns the acquired handwritten character information to the terminals and causes the terminals to perform character recognition. Alternatively, the host terminal concentratively manages the character recognizing methods and dictionaries of all the terminals and performs character recognition.

  • Patent number: 5974191
Abstract: An image containing characters and lines, which is inputted by a scanner or the like, is binarized and stored in a memory. A thickening process is repeatedly applied on groups of significant bits stored in the memory, until a predetermined condition is fulfilled. After this process, the thickened image is thinned at least a greater number of times than the number of times the thickening process is repeated in order to eliminate lines. As a result, characters are determined to exist at areas where groups composed of remaining significant dots exist, then characters are separated from the input image based on the areas of groups composed of the remaining significant dots.
