  • Patent number: 5049937
Abstract: An electrophotographic imaging device includes a first developer for carrying transparent type toner and a second developer for carrying non-transparent type toner. A paper supplying cassette is provided for supplying a sheet of recording medium. A recording medium detector is provided for detecting the type of recording medium loaded in the paper supplying cassette whether it is a transparent recording medium or a non-transparent recording medium. A controller is provided for controlling the selection between the first and second developers such that the first developer is selected when the recording medium detector detects that a transparent recording medium is loaded in the paper supplying cassette.

  • Patent number: 5038171
Abstract: An image forming method and an apparatus therefor for forming a reproduced color image on a recording medium by repeating a process of forming on a latent image carrier an electrostatic latent image corresponding to a document image through an image exposure, depositing one of at least yellow, magenta and cyan toners on the electrostatic latent image, wherein a color which is read as a mixture of magenta and cyan is deposited as magenta or cyan according to the proportion of mixing of magenta and cyan in the mixed color.

  • Patent number: 4922303
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has a corona discharge device for transferring a toner image formed on a photosensitive member onto paper and a suction fan for drawing air from the inside of the corona discharge device to exhaust ozone. The corona discharge device has a wire electrode, a shield member surrounding the wire electrode including a lower portion located on the opposite side to the photosensitive member with respect to the wire electrode and a pair of side portions extending from the respective side edges of the lower portion toward the photosensitive member, and a cover member located between the photosensitive member and the wire electrode and extending downstream from the upstream side of the wire electrode with respect to the direction of transport of the paper to cover a part of the upper side of the wire electrode, the remaining part of the upper side of the wire electrode being used for transferring the toner image by corona discharge.

  • Patent number: 4910858
Abstract: An automatic coil winding and finishing machine. First and second bobbin conveying devices of the apparatus are capable of reciprocating on linear lines while holding coil bobbins, and of stopping the coil bobbins at predetermined positions. The first conveying devices allow the coil bobbins to be fed from a feeding device to a coil winding device and then to be discharged therefrom after the completion of the coil winding process. The second conveying device receives the coil bobbins from the first conveying device, and then allows them to be subjected to coil finishing processes in cooperation with devices for the coil finishing processes, as the coil bobbins remain held by the second conveying device. The intervals at which the conveying devices hold the coil bobbins may be determined in such a manner that the intervals are reduced when the coil bobbins are transformed from the first conveying device to the second conveying device.

  • Patent number: 4816875
Abstract: A slit illumination system including a document support, a light source, a first elliptic mirror arranged at an opposite side to the document support with respect to the light source, an auxiliary mirror positioned at an opposite side to the first elliptic mirror with respect to the image light passage reflected by the document and a second elliptic mirror arranged at the side of the document with respect to the first elliptic mirror. The first elliptic mirror has a focussing line thereof positioned above or below the document and the second elliptic mirror has it positioned at the opposite side. The illumination light which is composed from the first elliptic mirror and from the second elliptic mirror through the auxiliary mirror has a flat top illumination intensity on the document.

  • Patent number: 4800414
Abstract: Improvements in a magnification varying device for electrophotographic copying machine of the mirror scan type to eliminate the drawbacks to be encountered and resulting in degraded copy images when the magnification varying range is increased, such as objectionable operative connection between a projection lens and a deflection mirror, and leakage of undesired light between the lens and a light blocking member around the path of travel of the lens. The present device includes an eccentric cam having the largest radius at a position for giving an equal magnification to assure smooth transmission of drive force to the deflection mirror, and a second light blocking member provided at each side of the lens and opposed to the mirror for preventing the objectionable light not blocked by the above blocking member from reaching the mirror when the lens is qat a position for a reduced magnification.
