    Abstract: A lawn mower has driving front wheels and driving rear wheels. The mower includes a mower unit mounted between the front wheels and the rear wheels to be vertically movable, an engine mounted to a front portion of a vehicle body, a transmission case disposed rearwardly of the engine, an HST coupled to a rear wall of the transmission case, the HST having a pump shaft and a motor shaft both projecting forwardly, a charge pump for the HST attached to a front wall of the transmission case, a transmission mechanism disposed inside the transmission case. The transmission mechanism includes an input shaft operably coupling a transmission shaft from the engine to the pump shaft, a first output shaft for transmitting power from the motor shaft to a transmission shaft for the front wheels, a PTO shaft for transmitting power from the input shaft to a transmission shaft for the mower unit, and a second output shaft for transmitting power from the input shaft to the charge pump.

    Abstract: A grass/lawn mower vehicle having a mower unit, and mechanism for transporting grass clippings cut by the mower unit through a suitable duct. The vehicle includes a grass catcher for collecting the grass clippings transported through the duct, a lid for opening and closing an opening of the grass catcher, a horizontal axis for connecting the grass catcher and the lid to be pivotable relative to each other, and a control mechanism for raising the grass catcher relative to the vehicle and swinging the grass catcher about the horizontal axis, thereby allowing the grass catcher to dump the grass clippings from an elevated position. The control mechanism includes a parallelogram link mechanism having one side thereof connected to the vehicle, and the other side connected to the lid, and an actuator for moving the link mechanism between a lower position and an upper position, and swinging the grass catcher when the link mechanism is in the upper position.

    Abstract: An engine hood construction for a work vehicle is disclosed. The engine hood is vertically separatable into a lower hood section and an upper hood section. The lower hood section is fixedly attachable to and detachable from a vehicle frame, and the upper hood section is attached to the vehicle frame to be pivotably and vertically opened and closed relative to the frame. A control panel is provided at a rear portion of the engine hood and forming a rear wall of an engine room. The control panel has a forwardly opened hook shape in a plan view. The construction further includes a connecting arrangement for fixedly connecting the lower hood section to the vehicle frame and engaging members for enabling the lower hood section to be engaged with the control panel along a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle when the connecting arrangement is not connected.

    Abstract: A cooling system for a vehicle having a radiator disposed above an engine, and a muffler disposed in a region below the engine. This system includes an air intake guide for guiding cooling air to the radiator from outside, an exhaust guide for guiding a large part of the cooling air having flowed past the radiator, forwardly of the vehicle, a cooling fan for producing air currents flowing from the air intake guide past the radiator to the exhaust guide, and ducts provided for opposite sides of the exhaust guide for guiding part of the cooling air having flowed passed the radiator into a muffler cover enclosing the muffler. The ducts communicate with positions of the muffler cover to blow the cooling air toward connections between exhaust pipes of the engine and the muffler.

    Abstract: A shift adjusting device includes a cam plate and an arm. The cam plate is pivotable and operatively connected to a change speed interlocking mechanism extending between a shift pedal and a belt type stepless change speed device. The arm is also pivotable and operatively connected to a changeover interlocking mechanism extending between a switch lever and a backward/forward drive changeover device. The arm has a pin for engaging a control slot formed in the cam plate. The control slot includes an arcuate forward drive slot portion and an arcuate backward drive slot portion. When the switch lever is in a forward drive position, the pin lies in the forward drive slot portion. The forward drive slot portion allows a full stroke depression of the shift pedal, whereby a forward speed may be selected between minimum speed and maximum speed. When the switch lever is in a backward drive position, the pin lies in the backward drive slot portion.

    Abstract: A cooling structure for a motor section of a working vehicle with an engine having a vertical output shaft and mounted in an engine hood having an ambient air intake opening defined in an upper surface thereof, and a fan disposed above the engine to draw in cooling air. The cooling air is guided by an air guide cover to flow to a cylinder head and a carburetor attached to a side wall of the cylinder head. The motor section further includes a muffler disposed adjacent and below the carburetor. A muffler cover is disposed between the carburetor and muffler. Part of the air having cooled the carburetor is used to cool an upper surface of the muffler cover. The remaining part of the air having cooled the carburetor is directed under the muffler cover for use in cooling the muffler.
