  • Patent number: 6659137
Abstract: An outer pipe 10 and an inner pipe 12 are formed by drawing. Inner pipe 12 is inserted into outer pipe 10 and a metal core 14 is inserted into inner pipe 12. From this state, drawing is performed so that outer pipe 10 presses tightly against inner pipe 12. Metal core 14 is pulled out, resulting in a two-layer clad pipe 15. Alternatively, a two-layer clad pipe can also be made by drawing outer pipe 10 and inner pipe 12 without inserting metal core 14.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 14, 2001
Date of Patent: December 9, 2003
    Assignee: Suncall Corporation
Inventors: Katsuhiro Imasaki, Hiroyuki Furukawa, Toshitsugu Ookubo, Sadao Oiko

  • Patent number: 6164835
Abstract: A split sleeve 1 for optical connectors is provided, which may be constructed from a single part with a reduced cost and which permits retention forces on larger and smaller ferrules to be easily adjusted in uniform manner. The split sleeve 1 includes a cylindrical member made from a metallic material, such as phosphor bronze or stainless steel, representing an appropriate spring-back action. A slit is extended in the axial direction from one end to the other end of the cylindrical member. One end portion 1a of the cylindrical member on one side of an intermediate portion is configured to have a larger diameter, while the other end portion 1b of the cylindrical member on the other side of the intermediate portion is configured to have a smaller diameter.

  • Patent number: 5682279
Abstract: The invention is aimed at miniaturization and thinning of a magnetic head support device of a floating type. The magnetic head support device includes a load beam 3 having upstanding side rails 22 extending along the longitudinal side edges of the load beam. The magnetic support device also includes a gimbal 2 having upstanding side rails 21 extending along the longitudinal edges of the gimbal for a predetermined distance. The gimbal 2 is disposed below the load beam 3. The upper edges of the side rails 21 of the gimbal are engaged with the lower surface of the load beam 3, so that a predetermined spacing is maintained as between the lower surface of the load beam and the upper surface of the gimbal 2.

  • Patent number: 5285564
Abstract: A decrease in the quality of parts constituting the magnetic head structure of a magnetic disk device is prevented and the degree of freedom of design for oscillation characteristics is increased.A magnetic head support structure 10 comprising an attaching base portion 12 for a magnetic head at one end and a gimbals spring 14 at the other end which are connected by a load beam 13 is integrally produced by rolling a linear steel material to form a ribbon of profile cross-section, which is then punched or pressed from the lateral surface thereof.
