  • Publication number: 20080054117
Abstract: A webbing retractor 10 has a structure in which a housing 48, to which a motor 44 is attached, faces in an axial direction of a worm gear 34, and is assembled and fixed to an end face of a case 30 which is orthogonal to a direction of thickness of the case 30, in which a clutch 26 which is attached in a joined state to a side face of one leg plate 16 is accommodated, and at an opposite side from a back plate 14. Moreover, this is a structure in which a rotation shaft of the motor 44 is between the leg plate 16 and a leg plate 18 in a state of being orthogonal to a winding shaft 20, and the motor 44 is disposed directly below the winding shaft 20.

  • Patent number: 7040649
Abstract: An interior finish member having a door for an air bag includes a main body and a cover. The main body surrounds the periphery of the cover, and the main body and the cover form a continuous surface. The cover covers a folded air bag. The cover includes: a door, which covers the folded air bag. A breakable portion is defined by a recessed periphery of the door and is relatively thin. A hinge connects the door with the main body and provides a pivot around which the door pivots under a force of an expanding air bag. The main body is made of thermoplastic resin, and the cover is made of thermoplastic elastomer. The main body and the cover portion can be integrally formed.

  • Publication number: 20030209890
Abstract: An interior finish member having a door suitable for an air bag comprises a main body and a cover portion. The main body surrounds the periphery of the cover portion, and the main body and the cover portion form a continuous surface. The cover portion covers a folded air bag of an air bag device. The cover portion comprises: a door portion which covers the folded air bag; a breakable portion defined by a recessed periphery of the door portion whose thickness is thinner than adjacent portions of the interior finish member so that it may be broken easily in deployment of the air bag; and a hinge portion for connecting the door portion with the main body and for providing a pivot around which the door portion rotates when the door portion opens under a force of an expanding air bag. The main body is made of thermoplastic resin, and the cover portion is made of thermoplastic elastomer. Because they are capable of thermally fusing with each other, the main body and the cover portion can be integrally formed.

  • Patent number: 6129377
Abstract: An air bag (11) for a side air bag device capable of reducing the size and weight of the device (M1) while retaining a tension line (L--L) when expanded is mounted on the peripheral edge of a door opening (W) at the inside of a compartment, and is formed into a generally rectangular bag shape for covering the door opening when expanded, while being equipped with a gas inlet (19) for introducing an expanding gas. The air bag is provided with joints (22) jointing an inner side wall (12) and an outer side wall (13) partially so as to form a tension line L--L when expanded. The individual joints (22) are juxtaposed in plurality along the tension line so as to cross the tension line, and are arranged generally at vertically middle portions so as to form one expansion chamber (18) having upper and lower spaces (18a and 18b) for the expanding gas to flow therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4694611
Abstract: A construction of a door frame in a motor vehicle, wherein: an end edge of a door glass is brought into sliding contact with a seal member of a guide portion on the side of a door frame produced by rolling a plate member so as to guide the door glass in the vertical direction; a door weatherstrip for sealing a space formed between a door and a vehicle body, when the door is closed, is mounted to the door frame; the door weatherstrip is disposed adjacent the guide portion on the side of a compartment; wall members disposed adjacent to each other, of a channel holding the guide portion and of the door weatherstrip are formed by bending two plate members into a two-ply shape; and a closed section is formed therebetween.
