Abstract: A multi-beam image forming apparatus includes: first and second semiconductor laser arrays each having n laser elements; a multi-beam generation unit that generates 2n laser beams by synthesizing laser beams generated by the first and second semiconductor laser arrays; a beam detection unit that generates synchronous detection signals to obtain synchronous scanning of the respective laser beams; and a control unit. The beam detection unit includes first and second beam detection units disposed substantially at a same position in a main scanning direction and adjacently disposed in a sub-scanning direction. The n laser beams of the first and second semiconductor laser arrays are detected by the first and second beam detection unit, respectively. • Publication number: 20040041087
Abstract: A connection selection circuit is connected to laser elements of a first sub-array light source via a first circuit and also to laser elements of a second sub-array light source via a second circuit. The connection selection circuit initially connects a laser drive system to the laser elements of the first sub-array light source. When one or more of the laser elements of the first sub-array light source become defective, then the connection selection circuit connects the laser drive system to the laser elements of the second sub-array light source.

  • Patent number: 6295136
Abstract: A printer driver of the present invention informs the operator of some pieces of information specified on another tab during data input operations on a predetermined tab. This structure makes the printer driver easy to use. Composite image data stored as display image data into a display image memory include image data representing a Main tab CD3 and image data representing data of Paper Size and Printing Orientation input on a Paper tab CD4. A composite image including the Main tab CD3 and the data of Paper Size and Printing Orientation input on the Paper tab CD4 is accordingly displayed on a CRT. This structure informs the operator of the data specified on the Paper tab CD4, while the operator carries out data input operations on the Main tab CD3.

  • Patent number: 5809106
Abstract: In an X-ray tube with a hydrodynamic slide bearing, an electron beam is caused to strike the focal point track area F on its rotary anode, which then emits X rays. An X-ray emission control device that sets the conditions for emitting the X rays stores as data the rises and drops in the temperature at the electron beam incident point and the other part on the focal point track surface of the anode. On the basis of the data, the input permission or inhibition conditions for the X-ray tube at every moment are calculated and the resulting conditions are displayed on a display unit. As a result, it is possible to perform a computing process in advance to determine whether or not X rays can be emitted under specific conditions without a permitting the rotary anode in the X-ray tube with a hydrodynamic slide bearing to melt and then display the results, thereby enabling a safe, efficient photographing control.

  • Patent number: 5696804
Abstract: In an X-ray tomographic apparatus, while rotating a gantry rotary section around a region where an object to be photographed is placed, the anode target of an X-ray tube is rotated at a predetermined high rotation rate and X-rays are emitted from the anode target. In emitting the X-rays, the rotation torque is increased to be larger than that prior to rotation of the gantry rotary section in accordance with the rotation drive power supplied to a stator coil. A decrease in rotation rate of the anode target of the X-ray tube can be prevented even during rotation of the gantry rotary section, radiation at a necessary and sufficient X-ray dose can be assured, and an X-ray tomographic image can be properly obtained.

  • Patent number: 5583906
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a rotating anode type X-ray tube, in the step of checking the rotational balance of a rotary structure to which an anode target is fixed and correcting the rotational balance as required, the rotary structure is fitted on a stationary support jig which sprays a high-pressure gas from its interior, in place of a columnar stationary structure, to set the rotary structure upright. The rotary structure is rotated at a high speed while spraying the high-pressure gas, and the rotational balance of the rotary structure is checked. The rotational balance of a rotating unit can be checked in the air easily and at high precision, and can be adjusted directly in the outer air as required.

  • Patent number: 5583907
Abstract: A rotary anode type X-ray tube comprises a thin gas passageway extending from a lubricant chamber formed along the axis of a stationary structure and open at a fine gap G effective for preventing a lubricant leakage. In manufacturing the tube, a liquid metal lubricant is supplied to the lubricant chamber and to a slide bearing section, followed by assembling the tube and, then, sealing the assembled tube in a vacuum vessel. In the subsequent exhausting step, an open end of the gas passageway is allowed to face upward. The particular exhausting operation permits completely releasing to the outside the gas impregnated in the bearing-constituting members and the liquid metal lubricant, making it possible to maintain a stable bearing function.

  • Patent number: 5506881
Abstract: In an X-ray tube apparatus of a rotating anode type, a stator surrounds an anode rotary structure and an insulating container section placed around the outer periphery of a stationary structure such that a portion of its coil conductor located near the anode target side constitutes an expanding flared coil conductor portion. Therefore, it is possible, for the X-ray tube equipped with an envelope having a large-diameter metal section and small-diameter insulating container section, to shorten the axial length from an anode target of the X-ray tube to a far end of the rotary structure and to suppress the build-up of electric charges on the inner surface of the insulating container section.

  • Patent number: 5384819
Abstract: An X-ray tube of the rotary anode type including lubricant passages or lubricant housing recesses formed opening at those areas of a fixed or rotary structure where spiral grooves of slide bearings are present so as to allow lubricant to be more reliably supplied to these grooves-provided areas. Even when the rotary structure starts its rotation or it is being rotated, therefore, the liquid metal lubricant can be more reliably interposed between those faces of the fixed and rotary structures on which the slide bearings are formed. This can prevent the bearings from being damaged and the operation of these bearings can be kept more stable.
