  • Patent number: 5748171
Abstract: A liquid crystal display with a pixel matrix has a bias circuit for individually applying a bias voltage to color signals input to a pixel. By individually controlling the bias voltage applied to each color signal according to temperature, undesirable density or color change can be avoided. Further, a bias voltage can be applied to a common electrode and regulated in accordance with an integration of the voltage of a pixel so that the integration result becomes zero, to avoid production of a burning phenomenon.

  • Patent number: 5600344
Abstract: A liquid crystal display driven in multiplex with a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix comprises a main display, and at least one sub-display located at least partly around the periphery of the main display.

  • Patent number: 5513028
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device has a pixel electrode substrate with a step defined by adjacent display and non-display areas. The display area has substantially the same height as a portion of the close periphery thereof. In the liquid crystal display device, the step is an electrically insulated dummy part which is not used as the display area. The dummy part has the same layer structure as the pixels in the display area.

  • Patent number: 5349595
Abstract: A drive circuit for supplying a constant drive current to the anode terminal of a semiconductor light emitting device, includes a current supply source connected to the anode terminal for supplying a bias current to the semiconductor light emitting device. Since the drive circuit is formed so as to supply the bias current to the anode terminal of the semiconductor light emitting device, a charge current for charging a conjunction capacitance can be reduced independently on the time period of turning off the semiconductor light emitting device. As a result, a spike noise can be removed in the laser current waveform at its rise-up part, and a reduction of its rise-up speed can be restricted, both of which are due to a dependent upon the time period of turning off the semiconductor device.
