Patent number: 7331758Abstract: A blower includes: an impeller on which there are arranged axial flow blades 40 mounted at circumferential intervals to an outer peripheral surface of a boss; a case surrounding the impeller; and a bell mouth cylindrically constricted to guide gas into the case, wherein an inner diameter of the bell mouth is smaller than an outer diameter of the impeller. Further, each blade has, in the radial direction, a sweepforward wing portion situated on the boss side and exhibiting a positive advance ratio value, and a sweepback wing portion situated on the outer peripheral side of the blade and exhibiting a negative advance ratio value, with the arc length of each blade increasing from the boss side toward the outer peripheral side. Therefore, it is possible to achieve an improvement in ventilation efficiently, through an increase in static pressure and to achieve a reduction in noise.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2004Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masahiro Arinaga, Kunihiko Kaga, Shoji Yamada, Katsuhisa Ootsuta, Hitoshi Kikuchi, Yoshimi Iwamura, Yasuyoshi Makino

Patent number: 6836986Abstract: In an apparatus for displaying a flying object, an air flow is created in a duct by a group of blowers. A holding line is attached to a lightweight flying object, and movement of the lightweight flying object is restricted by the holding line. By making the lightweight flying object fly in the air flow, the lightweight flying object is able to fly even in a small space.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2002Date of Patent: January 4, 2005Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Katsuhisa Ootsuta, Toshio Ito, Takeshi Ono

Publication number: 20010031448Abstract: A method of technical education comprising an educational process of simulating behaviors of a flying object through a simulation program of flight functions based on basic equations of hydrodynamics, an educational process of designing the flying object and manufacturing the same, an educational process of confirming behaviors of the flying object through experimentation, and an educational process of optimizing the flying object to present targeted functions. Creative activities for obtaining an improved flying object can be performed during an educational process of experiencing effective and proper designing, manufacturing and test flying of a flying object as a teaching material. With this arrangement, the level of comprehension of hydrodynamics can be heightened from a level of passive comprehension to a level with which intellectual productive activities in the sense of creative activities can be achieved. A technical educational system and a flying object are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2001Publication date: October 18, 2001Applicant: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshio Itoh, Katsuhisa Ootsuta, Masayuki Miyazaki, Hiroo Sakamoto, Shiro Tatsumi, Yoshikazu Ugai, Masaharu Sawatani

Patent number: 6109388Abstract: A sound absorbing mechanism using a porous material has a sound absorbing plate of a thin plate porous material made by partially heating for welding plastic particles and a supporting member for supporting the sound absorbing plate and forming a back air space. More than one pair of resonators having a separated back air space in the aforementioned back air space are fixed to the sound absorbing plate, and the resonators are disposed to be opposed to a sound insulator with the supporting member between. Plural reflecting members or increased sound absorbers may be disposed to be opposed to the surface of the sound absorbing plate opposite to the surface equipped with the resonators, or a perforated protecting plate fixing the plural reflecting members or the increased sound absorbers thereon are may be equipped. The sound absorbing mechanism has a superior sound absorption characteristic from lower frequencies to higher frequencies.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1998Date of Patent: August 29, 2000Assignees: Mitsubishi Electric Home Appliance Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kouji Tsukamoto, Katsuhisa Ootsuta, Shuichi Tani, Masayuki Kurashina, Toshihisa Imai

Patent number: 5421403Abstract: An air conditioner includes bent portions provided at edge portions of a plurality of fins juxtaposed on a heat exchanger, respectively. Each bent portion is located at an edge portion which is near a cross flow fan and on the sides of said fin facing the cross flow fan and lying generally between the cross flow fan and a coolant pipe of the heat exchanger. The bent portions are formed by bending the edge portions so as to be in parallel to the coolant pipe and staggered along an axis parallel to the coolant pipe. Thereby, the noise during the operation of the cross flow of the air conditioner can be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1993Date of Patent: June 6, 1995Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Katsuyuki Aoki, Makoto Yoshihashi, Katsuhisa Ootsuta, Motoo Sano
