    Abstract: A control method for an aerodynamic brake device which can reduce a speed of a vehicle efficiently without affecting riding comfort or a vehicle is provided. A control method for an aerodynamic brake device includes at least aerodynamic brake plates provided in the front in the advancing direction of a railway vehicle from a center part of vehicles, driving portions and a brake controller for controlling advancing operations of the aerodynamic brake plates, and a speedometer for detecting a speed of the railway vehicle. The aerodynamic brake device controls the advancing operations of the aerodynamic brake plates in accordance with the speed of the railway vehicle by the speedometer.
