  • Patent number: 11465873
Abstract: A post-processing apparatus includes a loading portion, a first binder, a first mover, a second binder, a second mover, and circuitry. A plurality of sheets are placed as a sheet bundle on the loading portion. The circuitry executes a control mode in which, before the sheet bundle as a target to be bound by one binder of the first binder and the second binder is placed on the loading portion and after the one binder starts moving from a corresponding reference position of a first reference position and a second reference position, the circuitry causes the other binder of the first binder and the second binder to perform binding instead of the one binder. The circuitry executes the control mode, without returning the one binder to the corresponding reference position, in a state in which the one binder and the other binder do not contact each other.

  • Publication number: 20220297963
Abstract: A sheet feeding device feeds a sheet in a feed direction. The sheet feeding device includes a loading portion, a feeler, and a first detection sensor. The sheet is to be placed on the loading portion. The feeler rotates from a reference position to a pushed position around a support shaft in response to a push by a downstream end of the sheet, which is placed on the loading portion, in the feeding direction. The first detection sensor detects a rotation of the feeler from one of the reference position and the pushed position to the other of the reference position and the pushed position. The loading portion includes a second detection sensor to detect a state in which the sheet is placed on the loading portion.

  • Patent number: 10926970
Abstract: A post-processing apparatus includes a binding tool configured to bind a sheet bundle, a binding tool driver, and control circuitry. The binding tool driver is configured to apply a driving force to move the binding tool to a first binding position at which the binding tool executes a first binding process on the sheet bundle and a second binding position different from the first binding position. At the second binding position, the binding tool executes a second binding process on the sheet bundle. The control circuitry is configured to cause the binding tool driver to move the binding tool to the first binding position at a first movement speed to execute the first binding process, and move the binding tool from the first binding position to the second binding position at a second movement speed slower than the first movement speed to execute the second binding process.

  • Patent number: 8326144
Abstract: Upon transmission path monitoring, when a monitoring signal responded by one of optical repeaters provided in a main signal transmission path is superposed on an optical main signal and sent out to the main signal transmission path, the optical main signal is branched to optical fibers, that are optical transmission paths, provided separately from the main signal transmission path and each provided with optical repeaters corresponding to the optical repeaters provided in the main signal transmission path, an optical main signal is selected from a desired optical fiber to be monitored from among the optical transmission paths and the monitoring signal is extracted from the optical main signal selected, thereby checking the quality of the desired optical fiber.

  • Patent number: 7657176
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for evaluation of a faulty point in a multi-stage optical amplifying and repeating transmission line which provides a totally new technique for searching for faults neither of the typical “command response type” or the “DCR method”. When a fault occurs in an optical submarine cable, the profile exhibited by the optical spectral characteristics of the optical noise signal (ASE) successively amplified through the chain of optical amplifying repeaters at the downstream side of the faulty point changes in accordance with the number of the repeaters. The technique finds the number of the repeaters until the faulty point based on the change in the profile so as to evaluate the location of the faulty point and has a step (S11) of monitoring the optical spectrum at the light receiving end and a step (S12) of determining the location of the faulty point from the monitored optical spectrum.

  • Patent number: 7280763
Abstract: A terminal apparatus by which, even where BER data, for example, of an optical signal of an existing wavelength cannot be utilized, the optical output powers of the existing wavelength and an extension wavelength can be adjusted in a short period of time while eliminating quality degradation of the existing circuit. The terminal apparatus includes a level controlling section for controlling a total optical output power of an existing wavelength signal light and an extension wavelength signal light to a fixed level, a monitoring unit capable of monitoring the optical output power for each wavelength, and a controller for controlling the optical output power of the extension wavelength signal light so that the optical output power of the existing wavelength signal light monitored by the monitoring unit may not be lower than a minimum permissible optical output power.

  • Patent number: 4250596
Abstract: A method of fixing trim on an object to be bake-painted and a device for carrying out said method are disclosed. The device for fixing trim on the object to be bake-painted has a depression from therein and the depression is filled with a thermosetting synthetic adhesive. A strong bond between said trim-fixing device and an object is obtained by temporarily attaching the device with a suitable means to the object at a prescribed position and heat-treating the painted object with the device temporarily attached and thereby, curing the paint and the adhesive and at the same time, bonding the trim-fixing device fast to the object by the adhesive.
