Abstract: An electronic apparatus including a first housing and a second housing. The first housing has a top wall, a left side wall, and a right side wall. The second housing is supported on the first housing. The top wall has a plurality of stepped parts at its peripheral parts that are connected to the left side wall and the right side wall. The stepped parts incline, lying at a level lower than the top wall. The second housing can be rotated from a closed position to an opened position, and vice versa. The second housing covers the top wall when in the closed position, and stands upright and exposes the top wall when in the opened position. The second housing has a plurality of extensions that cover the stepped parts when in the closed position.

Abstract: A display device includes a housing having a support wall, a display panel set in the housing, and a plurality of retaining members. The display panel has a display screen and outer peripheral portions surrounding the display screen. The retaining members fix the outer peripheral portions of the display panel to the support wall in a plurality of positions with the display screen between the positions. Each of the retaining members has a first fixing portion fixed to the support wall, second fixing portions fixed to the outer peripheral portions of the display panel, and spring portions connecting the first fixing portion and the second fixing portions.

Abstract: An information apparatus such as a portable computer comprises a main body having an upper surface, and a display unit. The display unit includes a display housing having a front surface and a rear surface located opposite to the front surface, and a display contained in the display housing and having a display screen exposed to the front surface. The display unit is supported on the main body to be rotatable between a closed position where the display unit falls down to cover the upper surface and an open position where the display unit stands up to expose the upper surface. An optical communication device for transmitting/receiving data by using infrared is contained within the display housing. The communication device has a communication port exposed to the rear surface of the display housing.

A circuit board on which a cable connector is mounted is contained within the housing body. The display unit has a display housing containing a display device. A cable extending between the inside of the housing body and the inside of the display housing has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion is electrically connected to the cable connector. The second end portion is electrically connected to the display device. The housing body has an opening portion for exposing the cable connector. The opening portion is covered by a detachable cover.
