  • Patent number: 8910993
Abstract: A cowling structure includes a head pipe mounted to the front of a body frame, a steering gear held such that it is capable of pivoting about the axis of the head pipe, side cowls each arranged at the transverse outside of the body frame, together with an opening so formed in each side cowl that it communicates with the transverse outside and inside of each side cowl. When viewed in a side view, the side cowls are lengthened up to the fore of the head pipe, and the opening is in such a position that it is level with the head pipe and overlaps with the steering gear in the fore of the head pipe. Such cowling structure permits less damages to the external appearance while providing the improvement in the lightness of banking at the time in the early stage of turning of a vehicle body.

  • Patent number: 8041507
Abstract: A meter support structure for a vehicle includes a leg portion of a meter stay that is joined to a top bracket disposed on an upper end of a steering shaft by way of a mounting portion at a lower end portion of the leg portion. An upper portion of the meter stay is bent rearwardly to form a meter support portion. The meter support portion extends to an area upward of the top bracket and a meter is mounted thereon. The meter is then fitted with a meter cover. A pressure contact portion extends downwardly from a trailing end of the meter support portion. A rubber cushion mounted to the pressure contact portion is pressed up against a receiver member fixed to a side of the top bracket. Support stiffness is thereby enhanced and vibration-proof support is thereby provided.

  • Patent number: 7677771
Abstract: An instrument panel device includes an instrument panel incorporating a speed meter, an odometer, a main switch and a meter cover covering the instrument panel and the main switch. The main switch is provided with a key cylinder projecting inwardly from the side surface of the meter cover. An inclined surface is formed on the side surface of the meter cover so that the projecting direction of the key cylinder is oriented obliquely downwardly. The inclined surface is formed at a position lowered by one step from the outermost circumferential surface of the meter cover. The resulting configuration reduces the size of the instrument panel device by reducing the depth of the instrument panel device incorporating the main switch with the key cylinder.
