  • Patent number: 7130799
Abstract: A speech synthesizing method which synthesizes speech naturally is disclosed. Standardized frame power values of an n-th frame is calculated when frame power values at head and tail frames in a phoneme are standardized. An average value of the power values sampled from the power frequency characteristics in the n-th frame at a predetermined frequency interval is set as a mean frame power value. A sum of squares of signal levels in one frame of a frequency signal from a sound source is calculated as a frame power correction value. A speech envelope signal is calculated as a function having variables of the standardized frame power values, the frame power correction value and the mean frame power value. The speech envelope signal adjusts the amplitude level of a speech waveform signal supplied from a vocal tract filter according to the level of the speech envelope signal.

  • Patent number: 6594631
Abstract: A method for forming phoneme data and a voice synthesizing apparatus for phoneme data in the voice synthesizing apparatus is provided. In this method and apparatus, an LPC coefficient is obtained for every phoneme and is set to temporary phoneme data and a first LPC Cepstrum based on the LPC coefficient is obtained. A second LPC Cepstrum is obtained based on each voice waveform signal which has been synthesized and generated by the voice synthesizing apparatus while the pitch frequency is changed step by step with a filter characteristic of the voice synthesizing apparatus being set to a filter characteristic according to the temporary phoneme data. Further, an error between the first and second LPC Cepstrums is obtained as an LPC Cepstrum distortion. Each phoneme in the phoneme group belonging to the same phoneme name in each of the phonemes is classified into a plurality of groups every frame length. The optimum phoneme is selected based on the LPC Cepstrum distortion every group from this group.

  • Patent number: 6102629
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for conveying spherical articles at high speed between sequential processes having different protective atmospheres, where the leakage of the atmospheres, which must be converted between the sequential processes, is prevented. The device includes a structure incorporating a rotary relay having a plurality of spherical-article accommodating chambers formed at predetermined intervals, a support container closely mounted on the rotary relay, and having a spherical-article receiving passage and a discharge passage. An atmosphere discharge pipe communicates with the spherical-article accommodating chambers of the rotary relay, and an atmosphere supply pipe is disposed adjacent to the spherical-article discharge portion of the rotary relay and communicates with the accommodating chambers.

  • Patent number: 4609908
Abstract: A repeat control apparatus for a serial keyboard interface apparatus has a one-chip microprocessor which serves as a keyboard controller. A RAM section in the microprocessor includes an area for holding a set value RCD.sub.A for repeat start timing control, an area for holding a set value RCD.sub.B for repeat time interval control, a counter area for permitting RCD.sub.A to be set as a preset value and for making a sequential down count according to the number of pollings from a terminal main unit, and a counter area for permitting RCD.sub.B to be set as a preset value and for making a sequential down count according to the number of pollings from the terminal main unit. The terminal main unit performs the polling operation with respect to a keyboard controller. The number of pollings is counted on the side of the keyboard controller, after the key operation has been performed. When the count value reaches a value initially set from the terminal main unit, a repeat operation is executed.

  • Patent number: 4482955
Abstract: A data transfer system in which a data entry system is converted from manual operation to automatic reading in a computer system, thereby to save time in the inputting of data into the computer system. The data entry system includes a main processor having a central processing unit (CPU) and a keyboard unit including a microprocessor. Provision of the microprocessor at the keyboard enables physical separation of the keyboard unit from the CPU by means of only a single bi-directional cable. The CPU periodically sends polling data in serial data format via the bi-directional cable to the keyboard microprocessor, which then controls a keyboard matrix scanning operation in performing the commands represented by the polling data. The microprocessor then controls serial transmission of keyboard data to the CPU via the bi-directional cable. Thus the data transfer system is suitable for high performance data transfer between the CPU of the main processor and the microprocessor of the keyboard unit.

  • Patent number: 4470038
Abstract: A shift control system for keyboard having plural character keys and at least one shift key arranged in a predetermined key matrix and the positions of which are defined by respective matrix codes, including a keyboard controller under the control of a central processing unit for determining a depression of any of the keys of the key matrix. The matrix codes of the shift keys are predetermined and so identified. The key matrix is scanned and the matrix codes of any depressed keys are determined and compared with the predetermined matrix code of the shift keys. Keycodes are formed for each depressed key based on the matrix codes produced for the respective key and based on whether or not a shift key depression is determined.
