  • Publication number: 20050239261
Abstract: In a magnetic connector acquiring connection with a mating connector by magnetic force, a base member has a particular surface to be faced to the mating connector upon connection. An electrode terminal is fixed to the base member and adapted to be electrically connected to the mating connector. The base member has a magnetic force generating portion having a plurality of magnetic poles for producing the magnetic force. N and the S poles of the magnetic poles are alternately arranged along the particular surface in a predetermined direction. Thus, the connector is properly positioned relative to the mating connector by the magnetic force.

  • Patent number: 6139927
Abstract: A liquid crystal device is constituted by a pair of substrates each provided with an electrode, and a chiral smectic liquid crystal composition disposed between the substrates. At least one of the substrates is provided with an alignment control film of a polyimide represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## in which A denotes a planar tetravalent organic residue group; B denotes a divalent group represented by --CR.sub.1 (R.sub.2)-- where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently denote H or alkyl group; a, b and c are independently 0 or 1; x and y are independently an integer of at least 0 and x+y=at least 1; and n is an integer of at least 2.

  • Patent number: 5711275
Abstract: A fuel pump is driven by a variable, constant current, control circuit. A pressure control valve disposed between the fuel pump and a fuel rail includes a downstream pressure control valve and a bypass valve bypassing the downstream pressure control valve. The downstream pressure control valve sets the fuel pressure in the fuel rail to a predetermined value by opening or closing a passage from a fuel pipe to the fuel rail. If the fuel pump discharge pressure is sufficiently increased, the bypass valve is opened when the upstream fuel pressure is larger than the downstream fuel pressure by at least a predetermined differential pressure. In this way, fuel is supplied to raise the fuel rail fuel pressure. Therefore, it is possible during other times to reduce the consumed electric power of the fuel pump and thus prolong its life.

  • Patent number: 5355861
Abstract: An evaporative emission control system provided with a vapor-liquid separation chamber in which a liquefaction accelerating agent is filled for forcibly liquefying and separating the high boiling ingredient contained in evaporative emission and vaporizing the liquid fuel effectively when the evaporative emission is purged, thereby lightening the burden imposed on the adsorbents and preventing the deterioration of the adsorbents so as to make the canister small while keeping the adsorbent properties. It comprises a vapor-liquid separation chamber formed in the canister, a liquefaction accelerating agent which is fibrous or long strip-shaped and filled in the upper portion of the vapor-liquid separation chamber, a fuel storage chamber disposed at the lower portion of the vapor-liquid separation chamber for storing the separated liquid fuel and an adsorbent accommodating chamber which communicates with the vapor-liquid separation chamber.

  • Patent number: 4956139
Abstract: A blade of an exposure control such as an iris control device or a shutter control device is provided for use in cameras. A sheet of a resin or metallic material configured as desired into the final blade form is placed in an injection molding machine which has a pin-forming cavity on one side of the sheet. The sheet is broken and penetrated at its portions where pins are to be formed and fixed, such that portions of the material of the sheet are deformed to project into the cavity. A molten resin is injected through a sprue formed on the opposite side of the sheet to the cavity so that the injected resin fills the cavity to form a pin in such a manner that the deformed and projected portion of the material of the sheet is embedded in the pin-forming resin. Another pin is formed on the other side of the sheet simultaneously with the first-mentioned pin in the same manner in the same die apparatus.
