  • Patent number: 6308431
Abstract: A pair of jaw components 7a and 7b positioned on both sides of a casing 1 are attached to both the tips of a pair of parallel piston rods 6a and 6b which synchronously extend and contract in opposite directions by an action of an air pressure and the tips of a pair of guide rods 13a and 13b which synchronously extend and contract in opposite directions by a rack-and-pinion mechanism. By forming a magnetic scale 18 on a side face of one of the guide rods, 13b, the guide rod 13a is also used as a part of a dimension measuring mechanism. A sensor unit 20 for reading the magnetic scale 18 is attached to the casing 1.

  • Patent number: 6118387
Abstract: When a cylinder is urged to displace a piston rod, and a pulse signal is inputted into a counter from an encoder, then the number of pulses of the pulse signal is counted by a counting section. A time-measuring section starts measurement for the elapsed time upon the start of operation of the cylinder. When the pulse signal is inputted, the elapsed time is reset. When the displacement of the piston rod is stopped, the pulse signal is not inputted. The elapsed time is increased to make coincidence with a predetermined preset time to output, to a control unit, a preset time elapse signal indicating this fact. At this time, the preset count value is compared with the count value of the pulse signal counted by the counting section. If the both are coincident with each other, a coincidence signal indicating this fact is outputted to the control unit. Accordingly, it is possible for the control unit to detect the stop of the cylinder and detect the displacement position of the piston rod at this time.

  • Patent number: 5295296
Abstract: The invention is concerned with a method and an apparatus for working a clad material used as a reed frame for a flat package type integrated circuit. When metal foils of a predetermined size is superimposed at a predetermined position on a strip-like material, press contacted and rolled to produce a continuous clad material, and reference holes are bored in the clad material, not only the relative position between the reference holes but also the relative position between the reference holes and the metal foils previously applied to the clad material may be set accurately. Even if the pitch distances between the reference holes provided in the clad material differ from one another, press working by the metal mold may be continuously performed using these reference holes.
