  • Patent number: 5334075
Abstract: A radio-controlled car capable of making a high-speed turn on the spot is provided. The radio-controlled car provides a controller and a car designed to run forward and turn by changing the direction of rotation of a motor. A first driving wheel is fixedly mounted on one end of a driving shaft of the car and an idly rotatable second driving wheel is mounted on the other end of the driving shaft. A gear mechanism for driving the second driving wheel includes a sun gear mounted on a shaft and planetary gears rotatable around the sun gear on the center of the shaft of the sun gear. The planetary gears are designed to alternately mesh with two gears which rotate in different directions, in accordance with a change in the direction of rotation of the motor. A controller is provided in the radio controlled car and includes a charging circuit for recharging rechargeable batteries therein without requiring a separate charger or having to remove the batteries.

  • Patent number: 4623320
Abstract: A moveable toy which includes a motor for producing motion. Associated with the motor is a motor controller for accelerating and deaccelerating the motor. A rotary element is driven by the motor. Associated with the rotary element is a flywheel which is capable of being rotated by the rotary element, but is also capable of independent rotation. The flywheel is further associated with a switch which governs the output of the motor to several moving elements located on the toy. The flywheel interacts with the switch to shift the output to the individual moving elements each time the speed of the flywheel differs from that of the rotating element. The motor controller deaccelerates the motor which in turn deaccelerates the rotating element upon command of the operator of the toy.

  • Patent number: 4612472
Abstract: A remote control toy has a main housing and a remote housing. A radio receiver is located in the main housing for receiving transmitted radio signals. The main housing includes a plurality of elements moveably mounted thereon which are set in motion by a motor in response to receipt of transmitted radio signals by the radio receiver. The remote housing incorporates a radio transmitter. The transmitter includes an electrical circuit having an antenna, a piezoelectric element for generating a current and an electrical component which is capable of generating a radio frequency signal in response to current flow through the electrical circuit. The remote housing further includes a moving member which is moved by the operator of the toy. • Patent number: 4571212
Abstract: A toy vehicle is supported on one end by at least one wheel and on the other end by a fly wheel which is capable of being energized by pulling a gear rack across a pinion which is connected to the fly wheel. On one of the side surfaces of the fly wheel, a material is located which, when contacted by a flint, is capable of emitting sparks. A flint holding member is positioned adjacent to the fly wheel with a flint located on the flint holding member so as to contact the material on the side of the fly wheel. In conjunction with rotation of the fly wheel, sparks are emitted from contact of the flint with the material. Thus, as the car is propelled across a support surface by the fly wheel a trail of sparks are given off.

  • Patent number: 4373293
Abstract: A toy racing game includes at least one vehicle powered by a windup spring motor and a track on which the vehicle runs. The vehicle includes an exposed winding member which when rotated winds up the spring motor. An energizing station is located in association with the track and this station is capable of interacting with the vehicle winding member to wind the spring motor. The energizing station includes an engagement mechanism which moves out from the station and contacts the vehicle to retain the vehicle in association with the station. The engagement mechanism includes a retaining member which so retains the vehicle and a motion transfer member which engages with the winding member on the vehicle. Rotation of the motion transfer member is transferred to the winding member to energize the vehicle's spring motor. The vehicle is allowed to propel itself on the track when the engagement mechanism moves away from the vehicle back towards the station.
