Patent number: 4585529Abstract: A method for producing a metal substrate for a lithographic plate is provided herein by treating the substrate having the thickness in the range of 50 to 400 .mu.m. The said substrate is electrochemically, chemically or mechanically treated in order to provide an average surface roughness in the range of 0.1 to 3 .mu.m, followed by a surface treatment such as plating or chemical treatment, and then followed by a conventional hydrophilic treatment.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1983Date of Patent: April 29, 1986Assignee: Toyo Kohan Co., LtdInventors: Katsumi Kanda, Katsunobu Kunimoto, Keiji Yamane, Yoshikazu Kondo

Patent number: 4517255Abstract: A method for the production of a metal sheet covered with polyester resin film which comprises laminating a polyester resin film which is preferably crystalline and oriented onto a metal sheet having a lower layer of metallic chromium and an upper layer of hydrated chromium oxide, which sheet has been heated to a temperature above the melting point of polyester resin film and then immediately quenching. This metal sheet covered with polyester resin film is excellent in corrosion resistance and formability.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1983Date of Patent: May 14, 1985Assignee: Toyo Kohan Co., Ltd.Inventors: Katsumi Kanda, Takaaki Okamura, Takashi Minamigi, Tsuneo Inui, Yoshikazu Kondo

Patent number: 4459335Abstract: Process of producing metal-resin composite, and the composite resulting therefrom, are provided. The process comprises providing a solution or dispersion of a resin, for example, an epoxy resin, said solution or dispersion having dispersed therein at least one particulate metal compound, for example, an oxide, of the Group I A and II A metals of the Periodic Table, the amount of metal compound being 1-500 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of resin, then coating the solution or dispersion on a metal substrate and heating the coated substrate to evaporate the solvent for the resin and cure the resin. The resultant metal-resin composite is corrosion resistant, especially under acidic conditions, since the resin layer having the Group I A or II A metal compound dispersed therein serves to control the pH on the surface of the metal substrate to within the range of from 4 to 12 under acidic conditions in the atmosphere surrounding the metal-resin composite.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1982Date of Patent: July 10, 1984Assignee: Toyo Kohan Co., Ltd.Inventors: Atsuo Tanaka, Takaaki Okamura, Katsumi Kanda, Yoshikazu Kondo
