  • Patent number: 5788084
Abstract: An automatic testing system and method for inspecting the contact characteristics of the contact pins of each of sockets of an IC tester disposed in the testing zone of an IC handler in an automatic and efficient fashion prior to testing semiconductor devices under test is provided. A test device which is identical in shape to semiconductor devices to be tested and the electric characteristics of which are known is provided and is carried on a test tray and conveyed from the loader section to the testing zone where the test device is brought into contact with a socket to measure the contact characteristics of the socket. Upon completion of the measurement, the test device is transferred from the test tray to the customer tray, and the customer tray with the test device thereon is then temporarily stored in a tray storing means in the unloader section. Thereafter, the customer tray is conveyed to the loader section where the test device is transferred from the customer tray to the test tray.

  • Patent number: 5391290
Abstract: A method for continuously tin-electroplating a metal strip, which comprises the steps of: causing a DC electric current to flow between a metal strip and an anode arranged adjacent to the metal strip while passing the metal strip at a travelling speed of at least 1 m/minute through an acidic tin-electroplating solution containing tin ions and an organic acid within a range of from 4.8 to 98 g/l as converted into sulfuric acid, to form a tin-electroplating layer on at least one surface of the metal strip; and applying an ultrasonic vibration, emitted from at least one ultrasonic vibrator and having an intensity within a range of from 0.01 to 1,000 W/100 cm.sup.2 and a frequency within a range of from 25 to 55 kHz, to the acidic tin-electroplating solution between the metal strip and the anode, thereby removing a diffusion layer of tin ions existing in the acidic tin-electroplating solution adjacent to the surface of the metal strip.

  • Patent number: 5275716
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a tin-electroplated cold-rolled steel strip, which comprises the steps of: continuously annealing a degreased cold-rolled steel strip; then, subjecting, following the continuous annealing treatment, the continuously annealed cold-rolled steel strip to a continuous tin-electroplating treatment in a tin-electroplating bath to form, on at least one surface of the cold-rolled steel strip, a tin-electroplating layer having a plating weight within a range of from 0.1 to 2.8 g/m.sup.2 per surface of the cold-rolled steel strip; and then, temper-rolling, following the continuous tin-electroplating treatment, the cold-rolled steel strip having the tin-electroplating layer on at least one surface thereof, at a reduction ratio within a range of from 1 to 5%.

  • Patent number: 5177469
Abstract: In a safety device for an IC handler in which a carrier arm and a carrier head, which carry IC elements to testing stations and carry tested IC elements from said testing stations to another position, are covered with covers for safety in such a manner that they can freely be opened and closed, a cover lock mechanism for locking the covers in their closed state and a cover unlock switch are provided. When it is detected, in the ON state of the cover unlock switch, that the IC handler is not in operation, the cover lock mechanism is unlocked by the detected output and the drive current to a motor for driving the carrier arm and the carrier head is cut off, and then it is displayed that the covers may be opened.

  • Patent number: 5002593
Abstract: In a compressed-air dryer, a base has formed therein a recess at the other end thereof. An inlet port is connected to an air compressor and communicates with the recess. An outlet port is connected to an air reservoir. Air after having passed through a desiccant container is discharged to the air reservoir through the outlet port. An oil-mist separator has one end thereof communicating with the inlet port through the recess. The other end of the oil-mist separator communicates with the desiccant container. The oil-mist separator is received within a tubular section of the base and cooperates with the tubular section to define a transport cavity therebetween. The inlet port communicates with the oil-mist separator thorugh the transport cavity and the recess.
