  • Patent number: 6204935
Abstract: An image processor reads an original that includes an original image and an attribute instruction image, for designating the contents of the image processing that is performed on the original image. This ensures that image processing is performed in consonance with the contents of the attribute instructions that are indicated by the attribute instruction image. A scanner reads a format original wherein instructions for data attributes, such as a range for a character frame and a character color, are expressed with a bar code. The pattern of the read bar code is analyzed, and the attribute instruction data, such as the range for a character frame and a character color, are temporarily stored in a RAM. An original to be output is read by the scanner and is stored as image data in the RAM. Image processing (color conversion, etc.) that correspond to the attribute instruction data is performed on the image data, and a printer prints image data obtained by performing all of the instructed image processes.

  • Patent number: 6061152
Abstract: An image processing method and apparatus which makes possible image processing based on attribute specification contents specified by an attribute specification image by reading an original including an original image and the attribute specification image which specifies the contents of processings to be performed on the original image.A scanner reads a format original containing bar codes indicating data attribute specifications such as character limit range, character color, etc. The read bar code patterns are analyzed and the attribute specification data such as character limit range, character color, etc. is stored in RAM once. Then, the original to be output is read and stored in RAM as image data. Processings (such as color conversion, etc.) corresponding to the aforementioned attribute specification data are performed in relation to this image data.

  • Patent number: 5905811
Abstract: When texts recognized by an OCR are registered and those texts are searched by a search word, a state in which the search cannot be performed depending on an error recognition at the time of the recognition by the OCR is eliminated. It is an object of the invention to realize a process such that no burden is exerted on an operator or an apparatus by the above state. There are provided an OCR processor for recognizing stored image information and outputting a recognition result while switching the number of candidate characters to be outputted as a recognition result in accordance with a degree of a likelihood; and a document searcher for forming character trains for search from the recognition result and for registering as a search file.

  • Patent number: 5758043
Abstract: An image processing method and apparatus which divides image information into a plurality of predetermined-sized partial images, and sequentially performs designated image processing by partial image, thus enables image processing of the read image data using a small memory capacity. In the apparatus, an image reader reads image information, in accordance with a designated reading size, and stores the read image data, as partial image data, into an image memory. Then, a designated special-effect image processing is performed on the partial image data stored in the image memory. An image output unit sequentially outputs special-effect image processed partial images.

  • Patent number: 5629792
Abstract: A main signal is amplitude-modulated by a predetermined low frequency signal generated by a low frequency signal generator, and a bias voltage generated by a bias voltage applying circuit of an initial bias setting circuit is superimposed thereon by an adder to generate a modulation signal. An external modulating device is driven by the modulation signal to generate an optical signal. The optical signal generated by the external modulating device is branched by an light branching device, and converted to an electrical signal by a light-electricity converting device, and a component corresponding to the low frequency signal is extracted by a filter. A multiplier detects the extracted low frequency signal by use of the low frequency signal generated by the low frequency signal generator. A voltage level of the bias voltage is changed based on a difference between a level of an obtained detection signal and a predetermined reference voltage.

  • Patent number: 4241415
Abstract: A data masking device having a first memory for storing information code signals convertible into visible information and a second memory containing specific code signals in locations corresponding to the code signals in the first memory which selectively are not to be visualized. Signals from each memory are simultaneously read out and a detector detects the read-out of a specific code. When the device is in a mask mode and a specific code signal is detected, the information code signal corresponding to the detected specific code is masked, i.e. it is either not visualized or else a special mark is visualized in its place. When the device is in an unmask mode, the information code signals are converted into visualized information irrespective of the detection of a specific code signal during read-out.
