Abstract: Disclosed is an automobile roof structure, which comprises a pair of right and left roof side rails 1, a transparent roof panel 4 attached to cover a space between the roof side rails 1, a sun shade 5 disposed slidably along a bottom surface of the transparent roof panel 4, and a shade support member 6 for supporting the sun shade 5 in a slidingly movable manner. Each of the roof side rails 1 includes a rail outer panel 7 and a rail inner panel 8 formed, respectively, with roof flanges 14, 15 which are oriented to protrude in a laterally inward direction of an automobile body and joined together. The roof flanges 14, 15, a lateral peripheral portion of the transparent roof panel 4, and the shade support member 6, are disposed within a given positioning zone where they overlap each other in top plan view.

The cooler duct has a first outlet for ejecting cool air to the first rear seat side and a second outlet for ejecting cool air to the second rear seat side, and the first outlet is arranged in a position away from a seated portion of the first rear seat.

For example, in the event where the automotive vehicle is about to roll, the seat back of the rear seat is leaned forwards and the upper end portion of the seat back is leaned forwards, thereby forcibly repositioning the head of the rear passenger seated on the rear seat to the position remoter from the back window panel.

Abstract: An upper part of a steering column is supported by a first supporting member and a lower part of the steering column is connected releasably to a car body by a second supporting member. Such component state is released by a releasing device which detects a predetermined state of collision upon the occurrence of a collision. This arrangement restricts the extent of rearward movement of a steering wheel and adjusts properly the amount of upward movement of the steering handle, thereby contributing to the improvement of safety.

Abstract: A cowl box of a vehicle in which a duct passagae through which an air duct of an air conditioner extends in a vertical direction is arranged to support a front windshield in such a fashion that the cowl box and the air duct are superposed as viewed in a transverse direction of a car body. According to this feature, the cowl box can be disposed in an instrument panel without narrowing the width of the cowl box and without enlarging the instrument panel.
