  • Patent number: 6976788
Abstract: In a thrust bearing supporting a load in a thrust direction in a rotary portion, a size of a curved surface in the forward side of a lubricating groove with respect to a relative rotating direction of an opposing sliding member is set to be larger than a size of a curved surface in the rearward side of the lubricating groove with respect to the relative rotating direction, and a depth of the lubricating groove is set to be deeper than a starting point in the side of a groove bottom of the curved surface formed in the groove shoulder in the forward side of the lubricating groove with respect to the rotating direction, so that a lubricating effect and a cooling effect are increased.

  • Patent number: 6711895
Abstract: An assembly of a one-way clutch and a bearing in which a thrust load due to a stator is absorbed and a dynamic pressure is generated is configured to prevent an abrupt temperature rise even when the pressure becomes high so that wear of sliding faces is prevented. The assembly of the one-way clutch and bearing is attached a stator of a torque converter. Dynamic pressure grooves and an escape groove serving as the bearings are formed in at least one of opposing faces of a flange portion formed on the stator and a pump member, or opposing faces of a bearing support which is placed on the side opposite to the flange portion of the stator, and a turbine member.

  • Patent number: 6577033
Abstract: A stator has a pocket portion (8) of a notch type resin-made stator, in which strength of an outer corner R (12b) provided in the pocket portion (8) is increased to thereby prevent the resin-made stator body (1) from being broken from the outer corner R (12b). A stator has a pocket portion (8) encasing a strut 9 of a notch type one-way clutch (5). The pocket portion (8) is provided in a stator body (1) made of resin, and corner Rs (12a, 12b) are provided on both inner and outer sides of a strut engaging surface (13) in the pocket portion (8). The outer corner R (12b) is formed to be larger than the inner corner R (12a).

  • Patent number: 6373157
Abstract: A notched type one-way clutch (11) has a strut (8) which is accommodated, together with a spring (9), within a pocket portion (7) formed in a resinous stator body (1) and also has a notched plate (6), the notched plate (6) being combined with the stator body (1) in a relatively rotatable manner and provided with an engaging recess (10) with which the strut (8) comes into engagement in one rotational direction. A swing angle limiting portion (12) for limiting a swing motion of the strut (8) up to a predetermined angle is formed in the pocket portion (7). Further, a movement limiting portion (14) for limiting the movement of the strut (8) toward an anti-engaging face (7b) side within the pocket portion (7) is formed on an engaging face (7a) side of the swing angle limiting portion (12) integrally by molding.

  • Patent number: 6059088
Abstract: In a resin-made stator comprising an annular plate portion (2) integrally formed toward an inner peripheral direction on an end of a cylindrical portion (1) in an axial direction or at an adjacent portion thereof, and an annular metal fitting (4) integrally held on the inner peripheral end of said cylinder portion (1) by an insert molding, a structure in which no crack is generated in the plate portion (2) even when the resin is shrunken and an excellent durability is given is provided, a desired number of notch portions (3) being provided on the inner peripheral end portion of said plate portion (2) close to the metal fitting end surface and a circumferential continuous end portion (6) having a predetermined inner diameter being provided on the inner peripheral end portion of the opposite end surface to the metal fitting of said plate portion (2) all around the periphery.

  • Patent number: 5760514
Abstract: The present invention is intended to provide a one-way clutch capable of preventing the inner circumferential surface of the outer ring of the one-way clutch from being deformed even when the outer ring of the one-way clutch for a stator constituting a torque converter is integrally formed with the stator made of plastic.

  • Patent number: 5655875
Abstract: A torque converter stator made by injection molding of plastic material includes a metallic one-way clutch outer race which is insert molded within the stator hub. A plurality of recesses forming lubricant passages extend through the wall of a radial flange of the hub. The lubrication recess (30) is defined by a part-cylindrical outer wall (32) and a pair of planar side walls (34) spaced apart by a distance d. The juncture of the outer wall (32) and the side wall (34) is filleted to form a rounded corner (36) having a radius of curvature R1. To relieve the weld line (60) from concentration of residual stress due to post-molding shrinkage while avoiding stress concentration at the rounded corners (36), the ratio R1/d is selected to be 0.18-0.35.

  • Patent number: 5590132
Abstract: A congestion relieving system in a communication system includes a local switch (62a) and a customer station including a network terminator (64a) connected to the local switch (62a) and plural data receiving/transmitting units (65) connected to the network terminator (64a) through buses (67D and 67U) conformable to a DQDB protocol. The local switch (62a) includes a congestion relieving signal generating unit for generating a congestion relieving signal when congestion is detected. The congestion relieving signal is inserted, as a request bit, into a request bit area in the cell having a format conformable to the DQDB protocol. The cell is then transmitted from the local switch (62a) through the network terminator (64a) to the data receiving/transmitting units (65), and each data receiving/transmitting unit (65), is restricted, under the DQDB protocol, to transmit data, when the data receiving/transmitting unit (65) receives the request bit.

  • Patent number: 5400339
Abstract: One of a plurality of subscribers connecting via a communications line a signal line and switching units, each accommodating a subscriber line connected to a terminal, etc., lowers the communication quality of the communications to reduce the cost of communications. A calling or called subscriber issues to a switching unit an instruction to lower the communication quality. A control unit in one of the switching unit receives the instruction, analyzes a method of lowering the communication quality and determining a switching unit for performing it, generates a control signal indicating that the communication quality should be lowered, and sends via a signal line the control signal to the switching unit determined to be used for lowering the communication quality.
