  • Patent number: 4373826
Abstract: A fastener assembly is disclosed which comprises a clip for mounting a constituent member to a corresponding receiving member. A socket portion is integrally formed on the constituent member, which socket portion has a cylindrical opening with a pair of engaging projections extending from opposing inner peripheral surface portions of the opening toward each other. The clip has a shaft, a support portion formed at a longitudinal central portion of the shaft and adapted to fit in the opening of the socket portion, a pair of spearhead-shaped snap portions formed at opposite ends of the shaft, one of which snap portions is adapted to fit in the opening of the socket portion and engage the projections, and small flexible bosses which retain said one of the snap portions in the opening when this snap portion is disengaged from the projections. A mounting hole is bored on the receiving member so as to receive the other one of the snap portions.

  • Patent number: 4056271
Abstract: A channel shaped member is mounted on a roof within an occupant compartment. The channel shaped member slidably receives an intermediate portion of a shoulder belt that has one end received within a retractor mounted on the roof within the occupant compartment adjacent an outboard upper rear portion of a vehicle seat and that has its other end secured to an intermediate portion of a lap belt. The channel shaped member thus provides an arrangement in which the shoulder belt extends diagonally across the chest portion of the seated occupant without touching the occupant's neck.

  • Patent number: 3985193
Abstract: A semi-passive occupant restraining belt arrangement comprises a first belt having one end fixed to an inboard lower rear portion of the door and other end received by a first releasable automatic locking inertia retractor mounted adjacent a lower inboard portion of a seat. A second belt is provided having one end secured to an intermediate portion of the first belt and other end received by a second releasable automatic locking inertia retractor mounted adjacent an upper outboard portion of the seat. Release means are provided for releasing the first and second locking inertia retractors. A belt hanger is mounted forward and above the seat and has a hook for receiving the second belt. Motor means moves the hook from an operative position, in which if the second belt is hung on the hook the hook will receive the second belt, to an inoperative position in which the hook will release the second belt.
